Russia 1812! French cavalry chase Russian troopers deeper east into Russia as summer turns to a cold fall and the french are lead further and further east and the Russian winter starts to set in early as they get further away from there supply lines and as the french grow weak the Russians now grow stronger and will soon have the upper hand and will soon fall on the french as they retreat in a bitter Russian winter, The coldest seen in years!!!

These Russians are conversions I made from Hat French figures in great coats And Conte WWII GI,s Mexicans and civil war figures with 2 part putty coats and lots of other mixed parts. They were a lot of work but a fun project! I think they came out pretty cool and a set of figures not available that I,m aware of? I had to throw this quick mini dio together and snap a few pics and see how they look blown up in pictures, that,s where you see all your mistakes.

Hi Tim,

I was just looking at these on the plastic thread. What a great looking bunch of conversions you put together. You've got a real magical touch for this kind of work. The terrain ain't shabby either. {bravo}}

Thanks Joe, Thanks Louis! The terrain is all scratch built also, the rocks were made from foam, the tree stumps and downed trees were sculpted with clay and one of the large trees in the back was also sculpted from clay over a wire and plastic leave type looking piece I found mixed with the plastic flowers in craft store. The other trees are made from branches from the yard and dried flowers stuck into flocked foam bases.

Here is one more pic of a few of the figures in the real early stages.

Tim, that terrain crafting explanation made me go back and look a little closer at it - very well done - I will need some of that magical craftwork of yours when I upgrade my dios next year.

My best

Joe
