Scale Question VW (2 Viewers)

Amazing what an air recon flag can do to an AFV or soft skin vehicle really brings it alive so to speak. Great pics

Blimey, more deletions than the News of the World inbox! What did I miss? On second thoughts I can pretty much guess, pro and anti's clashing again by any chance? Back to the product, are all three of these versions available now and does anyone have a pic of their Desert version?

Rob
These deletion massacres are beginning to become standard fare everytime KC releases something. I guess the old saying that "no publicity is bad publicity" is true. It sure keeps KC upfront and in the headlines. It would seem that passion rules this hobby. -- Al

I found these on another forum...One looks like part of a military column and the other in the background during Paris occupation. Yet another shows winter troops. There seems to be enough legit evidence to show that the beetle was used by the military and not just party officials. Not a fantasy vehicle this time as some represented it. Michael

Thank you for posting these images. So that lays any queries about reality to rest regarding the VW releases.

i just got my AK VW (Kdf). Do you think it looks a bit too small when placed next to the other vehicles and figures? I love the car by itself, but when I place it in my big desert diorama, it does look too small. Opinions?

I put my Desert VW on the side of my Desert Diorama so i think it looks good as a add on to the dio .

Good pictures. In the last one the vehicle is carrying a divisional HQ unit identification flag.

Notwithstanding the deletion massacre this was an interesting topic that I hadn't given any prior thought to. When I first saw these releases I thought, I can't recall seeing any pictures of "beetles" with combat units. As a result of this discussion I now know that this model does appear to have been employed by the Wehrmacht in a very limited fashion. This is logical considering the chronic shortage of motor vehicles.

Well after seeing the great photos I've picked one up cheap of ebay , so much for the made rush to buy them as they were selling out cheap as people would have you believe :rolleyes2:

I note that the AK version is gone from K&CUK but the other two variants are available
