Very cool tank. Gotta love the unusual design/layout and the camo job. Got one on order and it will look good next to the JJD St. Chamond as the French forces form up for their assault on the Chemin des Dames, aka the Second Battle of the Aisne. John really is bringing this whole vision for the French Army and armor of 1918 together very nicely. The Schneider's camo scheme is one used in early 1918 and in the August counter-offensive led by Gen. Gouraud, and the St. Chamond is a later model with the 1918 camo, but since both the Schneider and St. Chamond made their debuts during the Nivelle offensives of April-May, 1917, that is how I will be using them. These are superb ground-breaking models and this whole line from JJD is proving to be quite impressive in it's scope and versatile in the possible uses. -- AlView attachment 158448 Just received-GWF-01 Schneider CA1 Tank. Thanks Pete. TommyVery nice set up indeed!
Can't wait to see the two French tanks side by side. I'll be buying a Schneider as soon as its in stock at JJDUK.
Pete
Received the Schneider tank today along with GWF 24. The tank is an impressively detailed piece of modelling. It is not a large vehicle when compared to the St. Chamond or the various British marks but it is a little larger than I expected. It is so unusual looking that it is hard not to love it. The camo job is outstanding but the details are what makes this tank a winner. All 3 guns, the 2 Mgs and the 75mm, pivot in their mountings. There are also 2 working hatches in the roof, one each side of the center line. Anyone who orders this tank is going to be pleased with the quality of the model and the unusual appearance. The 2 Poilu are excellent, as usual, and they both wear the flaming grenade badge of the infantry bomber specialist on their left sleeves. Really pleased with these latest arrivals. -- AlVery cool tank. Gotta love the unusual design/layout and the camo job.
