That is all for this month, next month should see the release of some Knights of the round table (with a twist), WW1 Russians and a few other surprises.
Our aircraft release will follow later this week and features some cracking new warbirds for those of you who collect this genre.

Best wishes The Gunn Team

The Vietnam War

ACC PACK 032; Following on from our first release we now proudly present our first vehicle for the Vietnam war the M151 'Mutt Jeep'.
Designed in 1951 the Mutt was the US army's preferred choice to replace its fleet of Willy's Jeeps. Seeing service in huge numbers in Vietnam, the Mutt proved a useful light utility transport vehicle and came in a variety of versions. The Mutt continued in service long after the Vietnam war ended and was sold to approximately 15 other countries, some 100,000 units being manufactured in total.

Our 1/30 scale Mutt comes as a standalone accessory piece and can be used in a multitude of dioramas as a backdrop or even as a barricade in a Vietnam street with a bunch of GI's hunkering behind it!
Comes with detachable steering wheel. A driver is being sculpted as we speak for this vehicle and the Dodge WC52 recently released.

Comes in 3 versions as follows:

A version in the markings of the USMC
B version in the markings of the Military Police
C version in the markings of the 82nd Airborne

All the above markings are relevant to the Vietnam theatre.

We will be releasing troops from all 3 above Jeep versions later in the year.

Priced at $89/£80 with 40 of each version available in this first release with more to follow if needed.

Pak 36 Cannon

ACC PACK 036; The Pak 36 was an anti tank cannon developed for the German army in 1933, coming into general service in 1936. Over 9000 pieces were available to the German army by 1939 with a further 5000 being manufactured during the course of war.

Seeing service initially in the Spanish civil war it performed well against the lightly armoured Republican tanks. Once again the PAK 36 served admirably against the Polish tanks during the 1939 campaign but its small calibre started to prove ineffective against British and French heavy tanks during the 1940 French campaign. The same weaknesses became even more apparent when faced with Russian T-34 and KV-1's during Operation Barbarossa. However as the Russian army fielded mainly light tanks at this time, the PAK 36 was responsible for knocking out hundreds of these Russian light tanks.

The PAK 36 was eventually replaced by the 50mm PAK 38 mid way through the war. However with various firepower modifications including a Stielgranate 41 rocket shaped charge, it was given an extended lease of life in various theatres including Italy and Normandy. It was favoured by Germany's Fallschirmjager for its light weight and portability. The Fallschirmjager's of course found it very effective against infantry, trucks and armoured cars right up until the end of the war.

The PAK 36 is probably best remembered from a scene in the HBO series 'Band of Brothers' where the US Paratroops come up against the Fallschirmjager in Carentan, armed with a PAK 36 which has been fitted with a Stiegranate 41. The FJ's fire it point blank at the Americans with quite deafening results!

Our Pak 36 comes in 2 versions;
The A variant with Stielgranate 41 rocket, glued & permanently fitted to barrel, 37mm ammunition box and canister for Stielgranate 41. No crew are provided.
Priced at $70/£60 and limited to 50 of this variant.

B version with 2 crew members (SS086 & SS088), 37mm ammunition carton, Stielgranate cannister and spare Stielgranate as per the photos. The Stielgranate can be fixed to the end of the barrel by simply sliding rocket into barrel or left off to give you a different look.
This version priced at $145/£130 and limited to 50 of this variant.

John F Kennedy

USA017: John F Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963.

During WW2 he served in the US Navy as an officer where he commanded several PT boats in the Pacific theatre. Kennedy was awarded the US Navy and Marine Corps medal for bravery in the field, when he rescued a crew member after their PT boat was rammed and cut in half by the Japanese navy. Rather than surrender the surviving crew spent several days at sea and on various islands before being picked up by the US navy. Kennedy showed incredible fortitude in that he towed (sometimes with his teeth) one of the badly injured crew members by his life jacket through the water, this all despite Kennedy himself being badly injured in the lower back during the Japanese attack on his boat.

We have 2 versions of Lt Kennedy, the A version with free form circular base and B version with gray rectangular base. Both wear the same uniform with navy tan shirt and green USMC herringbone trousers.

Limited to 50 of each version and priced at $40/£36.

Couple of comments, firstly did T Gunn buy to many bases, as there are no figures without bases? Secondly, new figures are SS86 onward, last months ended up at SS83, means we have SS84 and SS85 are missing! Where are they? wounded, on leave, dead or deserters.......

Great month for releases, only the German WW2 for me, but can see the appeal of the other releases. Wallet will take a hit again.

Would like to see some more fighting WW2 European Brits to follow on from the 6llb gun, plus think the Romans would have had enough 'rest' in a couple of months..........

Great work, one of the TS markets monthly highlights.

The Mutt looks nice, just need to decide which to go for !

Steve
