Hard to put into words the tragedy that occurred in Pittsburgh yesterday and my family received an even greater shock midday when we learned that our cousin was among one of the 11 victims of the mass shooting. Senseless is about the only word that comes to mind.

Tom, I am so sorry to hear that your cousin was among those murdered. As many here know, I am very involved in the Jewish community, and this hit us hard.

Tom, no words great enough to express my sorrow for the loss of your cousin.

I have plenty of words about the attack (but will refrain here)

Very sorry to hear of this Tom; these senseless shootings are always difficult to process, even more so when you find out someone you know was a victim.

Just horrible.

Tom,
Its hard for me to understand in any way how this can still happen in our diverse and "freedom of religion society."
My wife and I have different religious backgrounds and we taught our children tolerance and respect for others no
matter what race, religion or ethnic background.
My sympathies to you and your family.

TOM .. please accept my heartfelt sympathies for the lost of your cousin. As has been said here .... there is no way that any person can understand why someone would take this action. A loss of a family member or friend is always hard, but when it is senseless and the result of hate, it can be even harder.

Once again, mine and my wife's prayers and thoughts are sent to your and your family.

Thanks for all of your wishes, ya know, as many of us I have experienced loss in my life and none are ever easy, I lost my father at 18 which at that time seemed unfathomable. As to this one, Danny was a truly simple guy, just became a grandfather 7 months ago, always traveled from the Burgh for every family event no matter how big or small, it is just truly a waste and shocking. Nothing ever prepares anyone for tragedy, but one this senseless as I said before, we are really at a loss for words, other than what I just posted. I mean what are the odds, right? As a family, it is a tough one to even try to provide comfort for, there is really nothing to say except to celebrate him.

Wise words, Tom. I lost my father 11 months ago. Death, no matter the circumstances, is never simple to grapple with.

I'm so sorry Tom for such a senseless loss.I can't figure what makes people so hateful.

Tom,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss! What a tragic and despicable action by a modern day nazi. It is beyond appalling.
