To those who have not yet had the opportunity, as well as those who have not visited the site in a while, you may want to briefly look at some of the recent additions on Arnhem Jim's blog at, http://www.arnhemjim.blogspot.com. Specific addition of toy soldier and military headress collections, as well as historical information on Operation Market-Garden and the Fallschirmjager artillery during Operation Merkur.
Yours, aye,
Arnhem Jim

Dear God- that writeup about Admiral Yarnell is chilling!!!

Very well done, one of the better blogs I have seen.

You might be aware but the Army is going back to softcaps and nixing the black berets- (I see you are a headgear collector).

Nice work!!

Chris, berets will still be part o f the Class A uniform, which will be in use more in by troops not in field duty in the future. Chris

Man oh man you should have seen how fast they dumped the beret here! Its fine for the Class A's and B's but the beret was about a useless peice of head gear for everyday wear. Rain in the eyes, Sun in the eyes snow in the eyes etc, glad to see it go away, especially since no one wanted the "change" to begin with. Really amazing how short sighted some generals are...

Great Blog as well!

I had the misfortune of wearing the Beret during my last 2 out of 20 years of military service. It had to be always shaped and flattened out on your head once you put it on. The soft cap is the way to go. I am happy for the troops today do not have to mess with the beret anymore! :rolleyes2:

Great blog and photos of Jim's collections!

FYI-As I PM'ed Jim, one of the films about Arnhem he mentions in a blog post-Theirs is the Glory-a hard to find documentary-is available now on Netflix's instant viewing.
