Six paint choices of Eagle Design SdKfz 251 (2 Viewers)

It does seem like the track and drive wheel should be more angled / curved than they are. It does sit just not right, but for the price not a big deal.

Here's some pic's of my ED winter half-track. The tracks appear more angled from the main drive sprocket compared to my tri-camo version. The figure by the way is William Britains.

Eagle Design SdKfz 251 - a comparison

I've been waiting for a SdKfz 251/1 Ausf D for a while and am glad Eagle Design came out with it. Here's how it stacks up against K&C's Ausf D (Pakwagen albeit with an altered interior): both are fairly similar in size with the K&C being slightly (~1/8") longer, width is almost equal, and height-wise the K&C is lower in the front but taller in the back so it may be a wash. The Eagle Design's body panels are much more angular that made the interior smaller and top opening narrower (which you can tell by the pictures, unless the Pakwagen was designed with different dimensions originally?). Overall, the Eagle Design is slightly smaller but I think it works well with K&C. I am definitely happy with the purchase and for a good price. Just my unsolicited 2 cents. Alex

I have both and would say the Eagle 251 half track to small to work with k&C figures in my opinion

I agree with Neil even though the dimensions on the K&C Half-track is reasonably close to the ED version, the newer K&C figures are a bit large for the ED Half-tracks.

Tom

As with previous ED vehicles they fit well with WB, FL and KP figures, but will look a bit out for K&C, TG TCS.

Steve

Is the EG on the righthand side? Does everything agree they are good with FL??

Cool! I was a bit weary because his kublewagens are pictured with a K&C driver..

Anybody have a picture to show ED SdKfz 251/D SS Half Track and your comments on this one. I was thinking of purchasing one for my collection of FL SS troops. Thanks

Here's some pic's of my Winter and Normandy versions. I think they aren't perfect such as the decals aren't perfectly applied and the tracks are a little lacking in quality but overall they are nice vehicles and they should work perfectly with your FL troops. You also can't go wrong on the price!

Thank you Tom for showing me the diorama and yes the Sdkfz 251/D stands out here but the Sdkfz 251/D I was talking about and I should have been clear here
and thought that there are 3 version of these for the Normandy area of operation. Referring to the Sdkfz 251/D "213".

At the beginning of this thread it shows all the different colors it even posted the "213" but nobody mentioned anything about it on what is their take on the in regards to
the painting or anything in general.

The quality of painting is surprisingly good. Still pales when put next to FL, but on its own is pretty good.

Also slightly larger than FL. Probably fine as long as you don’t line it up exactly with the FL 251.

Works well with troops even though on the larger side. Well in the realm of human possibilities.

Much simpler then FL which makes sense.

I had to reglue a few pieces and front wheel under carriages on both mine needed gentle straightening when extracted from box.

Can take pictures in 2 weeks after circling the globe for work.
