Size Compatibility of TCS and K&C Armor and Figures (1 Viewer)

The KT I bought from Y-Weido was not an ED product; but a TCS KT in a TCS box. I think it was a prototype run that was never released by TCS for unknown reasons. Y-Weido sells a number of manufacturers products; not just ED. Some items I think may be factory seconds or prototypes.

Was it 1/30 or usual 1/28 TCS scale?

1/28 scale Matt, perhaps a bit more depending on how and where you measure. The hull dimensions are: length 245mm, width134 mm over the tracks, height to top of cupola110mm.
Overall length gun forward 348 mm. I did not install the fenders on mine. The damaged track option and a TCS figure are included. The model is about the same size as the K&C BBG 016 KT.
IMO it is better than the earlier TCS KT. Village Horse bought one and he likes it, he has many TCS KTs. The box indicates it was to be a 2015 release by TCS. I asked Brian Levy about it but I never received a reply!

Hello, this is a great background photo shot. Did you by chance have the part number of this winter scene so I can do a better search? I was not able to find something like this on amazon. thanks

The K&C Porsche Turret Kingtiger is 1/30 scale and some comments on the Forum at the time of its release indicted dissatisfaction at the small size in relation to the oversize figures. The next K&C Kingtiger was the Henschel Turret version and the size increased to 1/28 scale; about the same size as the TCS Kingtiger, which was more size compatible with the figures. I agree that the first TCS Tiger I was 1/30 scale and the later versions are 1/28 scale to better match the oversize figures from TCS, K&C and TG.

The first K/C King Tiger with the Porsche is 1:32 scale not 1:30th....it is rather smallish and not well detailed IMO....and it looks even smaller when you place K/C 1:28th tank riders atop of it. :(

I agree the K&C Porsche Kingtiger WS 067 is too small for the 65-68mm figures. However the size is larger than 1/32 scale. The hull length is 9 inches, width is 4.75 inches and height is 4 inches.
A true 1/30 scale model of a Kingtiger should measure: hull length 8.4 inches, width 4.9 inches and height 4 inches. I think given the measured dimensions that the WS 067 is closer to 1/30 than 1/32 scale. K&C figures certainly look more realistic with the 1/28 BBG 016 Henschel Kingtiger IMO.

Hilary Doyle's dimensions for the Kingtiger for reference are: hull length 252 inches, width 147 inches and height 121 inches. Overall length is 405 inches with the gun forward. The dimensions are cited in the Osprey New Vanguard series Number 1 Kingtiger Heavy Tank.

Only TCS WWII figures are 1/28. The Roman figures are 1/30. Several manufacturers have different scales in different lines. TG is another example; WWII figures are 1/28 (65-68mm) and Romans are 1/30 (58-62mm). Ditto K&C. Make no since why one line is larger than the others IMO.

What about First Legion, their WWII figures were actually smaller than their other ranges, I wonder if they have changed any sizing lately?

Most TCS, K & C and TMG figures in their WW2 ranges are very close in size:
