A couple photos from a 1 day dispaly our club set up at the Bradley Air Museum recently, titled "Churchill visits a forward RAF field"

Next photo also shows an old Verlinden resin bust of Churchill that I painted in artist oils over an acrylic undercoat. Kind of adds to the eyecandy of the display. Also note the old Marx metal flag I took from the spares box and repainted as a RAF flag. I get a lot of milage from some of these old Marx accessories by repainting and using as fill in or background pieces to add some interest to the scene.

I use felt sprinkled over with railroad lanscaping mixes of various earth colors for the groundwork. Makes the set up and tear down and cleanup very fast and easy

Great Winston figure and with the tent and truck - makes for an excellent scene.

Thanks all for your kind words about the display, especially the smaller details. One detail I always try to add is a dog or two. I always seem to get comments about the dogs more times than not when people stop to look and have something to ask or say about the pieces. I would encourage K&C to continue to add dogs to their future releases. They may be a small item in a set physically but a big item in adding interest to our displays and collections. How do the rest of you feel about the adding of animals to the sets in the future??

Excellent diorama, those RAF sets look super posed together. One of the best series K&C makes. Still lots of pieces to be made such as a firetruck, maybe some nurses, AA guns etc. Like the flag! ^&cool

Very nice little dio. I am from Connecticut and have been to the Bradley Air Museum. It is a great place to visit. It would be nice if someone would submite some photos. "Mr Cot 45"

Hi Walt,

An outstanding display with a good impact. It is certainly a very effective illustration of a Battle of Britain theme without the inclusion of aircraft and nissen hut.

Thanks, Raymond. :)

Try this link to see photos of the aircraft collection at the New England Air Museum. (Also known unofficially as the Bradley air museum

Hoping my first attempt at a link works. If not goggle New England air museum and look under "what's here" then collections
Walt Damon.
The link works fine..thanks...awsume aircraft collection.....the Skywarrior and the Granville Bros very unstable aircraft, would be pretty unique to most Air Museums...thanks for the link...I will now return to the link and have a real good look at the aircraft...TomB

SOme replies to this old post when it was published made note of the Winston Churchill bust I had painted and added to the display. Find below some better photos of the old boy and one of few that is owed so much. both painted by me in Artist oils over an acrylic under coat............posed with some K&C RAF figures which I have a real passion for, and am looking for more releases to add to my collection.
