I just came up with a bit of display space (about 15 by 12 inches) & I decided to add a small World War One Trench warfare scene that related to the last months of 1914 to be placed adjacent to my much larger diorama of the German Army in WW1 "Marching on to Paris" in August to early September 1914. By late September 1914 The German Army could advance no more & by late November 1914 there were trenches that continued from the Swiss border to the North Sea in Belgium!

(1) I have used a W. Britain (Trench/Gun Emplacement) set# WB51009. And so as to match up with my other King & Country (K&C) 1914 WW1 sets I also secured K&C sets of the German Army's (2) FW 058, a 7.7 cm gun w/ 3 man crew. (3) FW 059, an Artillery Officer. (4) One walking infantryman with cap w/ rifle slung. (5) FW 110, two walking infantrymen of the 13th Infantry Regiment with helmets w/ rifles slung. Please see the five photos attached below. Guy:

Thanks much for your very nice comments! Yes, the 100th anniversary of the start of WW1 is coming now with just 11 months to go. In 2014 I should be having an article & photos appear in Toy Soldier & Model Figure magazine about WW1 to include stories my father picked up on as a 6 to 10 year child in a village in Austro-Hungary relative to WW1. It was a horrible war indeed!

Hi Gary,

Great display. The King & Country gun and figures look good with the W. Britain trench/gun emplacement. A timely emphasis on WWI as the 100th Anniversary approaches.

Best Wishes, Raymond. :)

Hello Raymond:

Thank you very much for taking the time to make comments about my newest display. When I was much younger I thought that the 100th anniversary of WW1 was so very, very far away, but now it is nearly here!

Best regards, Gary

Hello:

I now see upon further review of my new WW1 late 1914 Trench display or diorama with small artillery piece that the middle artilleryman was positioned a bit too far back of the gun for opening the chamber for loading a shell into the gun. It appears that he should be on a small side seat closer to the back end of the gun barrel. See new photo now showing the middle gunner closer behind the gun.

Gary,

great setup, posed in the gun pit, well done!!

But, you need to change the location of the gunner loading the shell, he stands on the left of the gun, and the gunner operating the breech, on the right, and he will be facing the loader.

This is the K&C pose, so you understand.

I know its 'knit picking', but after serving on guns, and throwing rounds up the breech, I can instantly recognise that mistake.

John

Hello John:

Alas, my only two years of U.S. Army ROTC training did not expose me to Artillery of any kind. Thanks for taking the time to have me further correct the positions of the #3 German WW1 artillerymen. I shall make the additional position revisions shortly! I certainly assume that you and K&C are correct.

Thanks again, Gary

Great dio Iron {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}} So nice to see dios on ww1....I guess they are rare also because it s hard to find/build trenches.....I love the officier, a great piece!

Thanks also go to "POPPO" & ROUGH RIDER" for their kind comments!!

I have posted here #3 new revised photos to show that I now have the proper placement of the German artillerymen as discussed previously here.
