Some more help please with some more K&S Glossy Chaps (1 Viewer)

Agreed those airmen look good. So glad I asked the question as I thought my airman was a fake. I even tried to sell it in 2018 ad no one wanted it. So glad now. I am going to keep an eye out now... Again thanks for sharing///
Champs and Bums is selling one now. They tend to go for very little. Just not that popular or well know to most collectors.

Hi
I think you're right my Zulu is not K&C. But no idea what it is. I added him in the following pics.
A number (a lot) of years back I bought 3 Zulus and 3 Seaforths/highlanders - and the seller I bought them from gave me the original receipt. To this day I regret not buying a bucket full.
You can see from the bases the searthfoth & Zulus have the same grass/undulating effect - my odd unknown Zulu has a thin long base.

I noticed today on the receipt that each set must of come as a 4... But I only bought 3.... But love the receipt.... nice bit of history...

Finally - Think I am going to look for those airmen.. they look good with a plane...

Thankyou - I did wonder if you were one of the authors. I have seen previews of it and it looks amaising. Also noticed that there are other books. One was of Arnhem... Were you involved in that!
Yes. I wrote the text for all the volumes, and most of the photos, taken by the very talented co-author, photographer and editor Kevin Eliott, are from my collection.

If you want to take a look at some of Kevin’s photos, take a look at this thread,

You had mentioned earlier that some of the Seaforths you owned were different sizes. When K & C first started making figures, they were of the traditional 1/32 or 54mm size. Later on, Andy decided, especially with the introduction of the Arnhem range in 1994/5, to make figures that were 1/30 or 60mm. The Seaforths that you showed above in post 22 were made after 1994/5 and were part of that trend.

that makes sense - as yes they did change size... Thanks for reminding me. Have a great evening

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I am based in the UK, and shipping costs seem to be v high from US to UK! The seller also confirm that. Hopefully some will turn up in the UK!
There's the Toy soldier show in the UK soon so hopefully I will pickup some stuff there. http://www.toysoldiershow.co.uk/
Have a great evening....

Yes, shipping costs have prevented me from buying some things in the UK.

Tuskogee is definitely K&C. I asked Gordon one time at the Westcoaster as I had maybe 3 or 4 of them and he confirmed they were special paints.

The Zulu was made by the King White Company sold under the Brand name Reeves. The ironic coincidence is that King White was the original factory in Hong Kong used by Andy to produce K&C figures, which is why early K&C were sold in plastic boxes just like the Reeves line. The Zulu figure is one of theres and probably why it was in the K&C lot as it is a pretty good match/companion to the K&C figures.
Hope that helps
Tom
