Thanks for the heads up. I watched the first episode this weekend. The good news is that many familiar characters are back including Lucy Lawless in the flesh - and not as a ghost! The bad news is that I didn't really care for the new guy playing Spartacus. The show maintained a heavy dose of sex and violence but it started a bit slow. Maybe things will pick up as it did in prior years.

Fair assessment Combat.I wasn't really crazy about the new guy but it's always hard to accept a new actor playing a part someone else originally played.Lets give him a chance.

What a rip roaring show episode 5 was. They must have broke the body count record for a one hour show. That's my favorite one so far this season. The new guy is growing on me.

This is turning out to be like season 1. I really wasn't to thrilled with what i saw in the 1st couple episodes but as the season progressed the more I began to like the show. This season is the same. The more I watch it the more I like it.

The naked women were gorgeous.
However, the killing was gruesome.
One guy was being tortured.

This may be the most violent TV show in history. I was thinking about buying stock in whatever they use to produce the fake blood after episode 5. That was a bloodbath for the ages.

Good job you didn't see the first series{eek3}Actually its got to a point where its a little bit laughable, some scenes are more akin to a Monty Python film and do detract a little because its all too over the top, the blood on the camera is also an absurd touch. But if you can get past all that its not that bad.

I loved the first series and the prequel, but this one has been a bit of a struggle plot wise to get into, mainly with the change of leading man (through no fault of their own obviously R.I.P AW) and a new Navea (Crixus's other half).

Still a huge fan though and hoping things will pick up a bit, I do miss Batiatus and his classic catchphrase 'Jupiters C**k'

Well tonights episode was pretty good. A brutal death in this one that I won't forget anytime soon.

Things really heated up in episode 7. I've finally gotten used to the new Spartacus. The Germans are an interesting touch and the death of their leader was particularly gruesome even by the high standards of this show. Quite a cat fight as well! A great show. I hope they keep it going at least another season.

Not to ruin it for anyone, but Ilithyia is not someone you want to mess with! Whew. They must go through a lot of fake blood each week.
