Hi John,

Hoping that this next instalment revives the plot.

Ive got to admit that the work here has been a little tedious (even for lil ol me). Im trying to sculpt flower girls and so far, I've faced setbacks after setbacks. The oils are taking a long time to dry and the sculpting has been meh.

But getting there with this round. The paint has dried enough to handle and I've added more putty to sculpt the legs. Why not just use the commercial legs you may well ask. Indeed why not? But there are only so many commercial legs per set and I've got to keep the costs down. Anyway, the legs are generally too short so Ive got to sculpt them from thin wires.

I completed the sculpts esp on the legs, then painted them. You may notice that some of the faces are men... Im an equal opportunity modeller....hahaha. These and the ones without legs will be placed further behind.

To the left, I've added the previous 3 front girls. I've also ptd two bkgd ladies. The comparison is to get a consistent look to this grouping.

Here are two statuettes sculpted from wires and painted.

I pinned some of the figs into two groups. Then set up a scene with some of the foreground figs. As you can see, some of these bkgd figs without legs are not consequentlai.

I took out this piece and redid the archi elements to better reflect the visual perspectives.
Also gathered up all the pieces to date to work on them.

I readjusted the archi elements to pose the figs. The foreground scene is now taking shape.

I raised the stage (archi stairs and balcony with wooden slats to allow clearance to drill and secure the front figure. Some of these figs have to be drilled and secured to provide support for the other figures which will be simply attached to the anchor figs.

I also drilled and secured the rest of the flower maidens, starting to trim the height of the back figs.

Now detailing the two front flower girls carefully.

For the two flower girls, I’ve changed the pose of the one on the left and I’ve made the one on the right stand on tiptoe.

And then, its fiasco time again! Upon examining the ptg carefully, I notice that the steps start from behind the left balcony. Thus the foreground procession is walking on a level platform. Phug!

I think that beats AI....hahahaha.

Luckily I have mastered the art of forebearance from dealing with authorities... So a quick gulp of tea and then I remade the stage. I strengthened the plastic base with glued struts underneath and attached the remade balcony to the left. So far, everything fitted nicely (and neatly). On hindsight, this remake was probably a good thing as I also created some space behind the balcony to house some figures.

The three foreground figs are further detailed.

Ive also completed the steps. Now knocking up the balcony and some proposed figs. Ive added some pillars to the balcony. There are 6 pillars so have to lengthen the balconies accordingly.

Ive done up the pillars. Originally thot to be rather complex to make with the encircling rings, I was lucky to find suitable sized metal wires which I made into rings around a wooden dowel. These were then placed around each pillar.

I like use of gold? rings for the bases of the columns, very clever of you

Victor, you're display is progressing well.

Of course it's currently Autumn downunder, my four Crepe Myrtle trees should be turning red, but I cut them down a week ago, they were creating too much mess on my pavers
