Stalingrad future releases? (1 Viewer)

Jazz,
Maybe not but it doesn't hurt to ask.I belong to a figure painters forum,Timelines, and I was telling them about FL's 90mm Saladin figure (which is beautiful) and Matt came on it and was very forthright in telling the guys about it and told them how many he had sold painted.Granted this new range is a much bigger endevour for him so I thought I might get something out of him. Can't blame a guy for trying.I was just curious. And no I'm not a businessman as you can tell.:):):)
Mark

Entirely different scenario Mark.

Matt,

The paint jobs on these figures look to be of the same exceptional quality found on the Aeroart type figures. Are these master painted prototypes or are these the actual production figures? If they are masters, could you show some photos of the production figures. Thanks!

Hi, Louis,

The image of GERSTAL014 Oberleutnant is a master because it's not in production yet. The image below of GERSTAL010 and of NAP0167 Colbert shown below is production quality. As you can see, they're very close and there is a reason why our customers say we truly achieve near "St. Petersburg" quality with our figures. Our online catalog only shows production figures, never masters. So, for example, the Prussians you commented on weren't masters...

They may not say it that bluntly but they do say it.You have to read between the lines. It happens all the time with movies and other products. In TS world you may not see more releases in that range or very few or they will say that particular historical period is not popular.I agree they will not tell you the absolute bottom line and I can understand Matt not wanting to say anything definite about Stalingrad right now because if it is selling well he doesn't want his competitors jumping in this range but I bet if you asked him face to face you could tell how it's doing.I just asked him a general question.

I think the best answer to a question like that was given by Dowding when asked if the numbers of British victories on a particulary good day for the Battle of Britain were correct.;):D

Thanks Matt. The photos of the production pieces certainly look to be painted in the style and to the quality one would expect from "St. Petersburg" type producers.:cool:

...and while we're at it...I don't think there are any other, buildings, tanks or alternate Stug colors. FL is all smoke and mirrors. Matt talks a lot but I haven't seen anything to convince me they're serious about WWII yet...:p:D:D

Interesting. Did you happen to notice the building next door, Pavlov's house (Red arrow). The odd thing is this looks like a ruin and I was under the impression it was rebuilt after the war. In the other red box I have highlighted the location of Fallen Fighters Square (Red Square to the Germans)

Great information! thanks :)

Frank, the building you are pointing out that looks like a ruin is a ruin. Apparently they preserved the ruin of the flour mill and it still stands like that today...I'm pretty sure these images show it...

Thanks Matt,

That makes more sense. Google Earth marks the flour mill as Pavlov's house which is what threw me off. The pictures you posted match the building beside the museum.

I fell for a common mistake. My 'C' Department Store is incorrect. I forgot...Stalin hid the facade for some reason only known to him

In this picture it looks like it is on the corner where you originally placed it or are you saying after the reconstruction it was hidden by a new building? There is a lot of change between the old and new (street orientation etc.)

yeah, I'm positive. I have a few better pics that will show it better. I'll look for them. It's truly bizzare why they did that. restore the wrecked building, then hide it.

If you are able to zoom in on your original Google pic, you will likely see the curve

Well, would you look at that? I zoomed in a bit and sure enough there is a curved building facade completely hidden from the square. That little stretch of road along side it must be the original street location. That is truly bizarre.
