Both of these wonderful sets will be shipping to customers worldwide late December 2010. We certainly hope you enjoy them!

GERSTAL021 sFH 18 150mm Howitzer with Limber and 5 Crew - $435
GERSTAL022 German Hauptmann in Fur Lined Russian Greatcoat - $54.95

GERSTAL021 sFH 18 150mm Howitzer with Limber and 5 Crew

The 150mm Schwere Feldhaubitze 18 was the primary WWII German divisional level heavy howitzer during the second World War. With a basic split-trail design and originally envisioned to be towed by horse, it had hard rubber tires and an unsprung axle. A two wheeled limber was added after its initial production, which we have also included in the set, that allowed it to be towed by such vehicles as the SdKfz 7 8 Ton Prime Mover. Our rendition of the gun is extremely well sculpted and beautifully painted and can be setup deployed to fire or limbered up for towing. At Stalingrad, heavy artillery such as the sFH 18 combined with airpower literally reduced the city to rubble and played an important part in each of the offensives that the Germans launched against the beseiged Russians.

As an added feature to our 150mm Howitzer, the gun trails open and close and hook up to the limber for towing by a vehicle. The limber itself is a very highly detailed piece on its own and can be placedbeside the gun and crew when unlimbered to fire or can of course be used to tow the gun by closing the trails, mounting the gun on the limber, and attaching the limber to a future towing vehicle that we’ll release! Further, we have providing two sets of gun brakes for this model, one set that hooks up to the ends of the trails when the gun is unlimbered and a second set to hang over the sides of the trails when the gun is limbered!

GERSTAL022 German Hauptmann in Fur Lined Russian Greatcoat

In addition to the Howitzer set, we are also pleased to present our German Hauptmann, or Captain, in an appropriated Russian fur lined greatcoat and captured PPSH41 Submachine gun. He looks every part the calm and seasoned combat veteran of the eastern front and is an excellent addition to lead your German trooops into battle.

I have been waiting "patiently" for this gun to show up and finally it's here and absolutely must have for any WWII collector, just the look of it by itself looks sweet, throw in the loaders and it's gonna be a knock out!! I know there has been a big discussion on the forum far as pricing lately but if you look at this set gun/soldiers it's still falls in line with the basic prices of First Legion, don't know if it will be under the tree, have some older stuff to get first but 100% by the new year, as far as the officer with white jacket, that has to be under the tree:) come on Santa don't let me down:)...Sammy

Very nice indeed and when you break it down with the figures @$54.95 a piece the gun itself is only $160.25 which seems very reasonable.

Just one look is all it took  Curse you First legion..... This is a must have for me :D der Hauptman is super BAD looking.... that fur lined coat is Pimp Yo  .( sorry too much time in Baltimore City Friday ) Grand Master G

My goodness, that is one beautiful artillery piece. You FL collectors must be very pleased. FL did one fantastic job on this. -- Al

No kidding, that is a superb looking artillery piece with crew, and I say that as a non WWII collector.
The Hauptmann though might just be a single figure I would like to have.
Great job, First Legion.
Konrad

Matt's words from official announcement

. I have had several conversations over this topic and If I were a poll kind of guy I would vote for the Horse :) To me nothing says Russian front and the harsh winter conditions like the pictures of the Horses cold breath , I think we sometimes overlook the enormous contribution of the Horse to WWII .
