Standard Britains 2011 Fall Collection (1 Viewer)

Just received the Standard and the new 2011 Fall Collection.

Have to say the Standard has such a great range of topics from plastics, to 2012 Collectors Club Figures (not surprisingly will be getting the Zulu figure) to the Somme – to name but a few of the articles. Also think it is good they have an article on young colectors to showcase the next generation of collectors.

The key thing from the Standard is that 2012 with be a big year for London – Olympic Games and Diamond Jubilee for the Queen, so they have 5 Limited Edition Gloss sets …it says …”think flags and Guards”. There are also exclusive for Hamleys and The Guards Toy Soldier Centre and they will be re-introducing some figures to the Ceremonial Range.

The Fall catalogue is somewhat sparse but ACW, USMC (Ceremonial) and Redcoats collectors will be happy – the RHA set looks good (on front cover). I am happy knowing that there is a lot of AZW coming in 2012 !!!

Finally they are here, that is the artillery command sets . . . . Battery B, 4th U.S. light artillery, the gun support of the Iron Brigade. The dismounted 2nd Corps flag bearer is smart looking also.

We'll get some Zulu and Napoleonic, maybe some Red Devils. I doubt any British Airborne but one can hope.

I am very interested in becoming a club member and in getting the 2012 Redcoat and Zulu club figures, they look stunning. For those in the know, a question: if I become a member now I guess my membership would be valid for all of 2012. Will I get those figures if I become a member now? Can you pre-order them now or only later? How many club figures normally come out annually?

When you send in the form, you select one figure to receive free with membership. You can also order multiples or other figures at that time, and can order more until they run out (usually they are in stock for a year or a bit more). There are 5ish a year, and they are all announced at the end of the previous year. However, there are club sets, usually 1 Christmas set, 2 event figures, and 1-5 club sets or single figure limited editions. I recommend the standard membership.

None from the 2011 Fall Collection - as I said it was sparse but in the Standard it says that February's will be a bumper issue
