Starlux Makover (1 Viewer)

Hi Johnny,

Great looking work as always! I will probably leave them as is for the time being since we will be getting ready for a move this summer. Once we get to where ever the Army sends us I will of course begin the work of trying to restore some of them.

Thanks for the info and advice

Dave

Okay - if you get stuck - just holler. How about a quick pic - just to see what you have before you start? :Djb

As I have finally sorted out a new arm for the last of my recently purchased Starlux (Atlas Edition) figures in metal, here he is finished - along with my previous to last figure holding a Standard. Note that both of these figures required new parts, which I had to fabricate, as spares aren't available - so don't look EXACTLY like they did when they left the factory. I don't mind that one bit - as the alternative for both broken figures was....well....Landfill! They are, therefore, uniqe! I hope to do a Group photo of ALL of my Starlux figures over the next few days (have to unpack them first) - so will post another pic once they are all out.

I quite like this pair - hope you do too. jb

Here is another makeover,

Star_Chasseur.JPG

Chasseur a Cheval of the Imperial Guard, in undress unifom.

This figure was a very kind gift from Johnnybach, who send it to me, as he was 'surplus to requirement' and he knew hwere this trooper could get a re-kit to a new shiny uniform.

hope you like him,

John

Oh my! - he does look smart! Not a bit like the sad little figure that went in the box. Well done once again.

Glad you enjoyed him John. Thanks again for all of your help and advice in the past , and I do hope he enjoys his new home down under.

I haven't been able to unpack my last hoard since getting back to photograph them with the rest of my Starlux boys ( as promised) - as I have unfortunately run out of shelf-space in my cabinets.

I'm now in a viscious circle - as I will need to revamp my present display area and work-space before I can make room for any more cabinets - and to do that - I will need to stop painting. Aaaaargh!{eek3} jb

Hi Johnny,

Finally had a chance to get a few of the Starlux figures I picked up in Luxembourg 3 years ago out and took a very poor photo sorry about the quality will find my digital camera and try and do a better job.

I have them arranged in a semi circle as if they were discussing action on the battlefield.

Yay! That's a start Dave. Nice.............I see Marshall Murat is there - off to the right. Are you going to make a start of R & R ( repairs and repaint),with them next?

If you need to identify them first - have a look back through this thread for the catalogue. Useful to get the colour details correct as well. jb

(PS see you're back in Texas!:D).

Hi Johnny,
Yes indeed I am back in the states! I miss Europe a lot but thankfully I have a lot of soldiers from there to enjoy.

I have a bunch of others that I don't have out right now and the plan is to clean them up eventually. I have been looking at your other photos so I have a pretty Good idea of how they should look.

Stay tuned for better photos soon

Dave
