Listening to interview about it in the radio.

First match of best three on Wednesday in Sydney and Qld going for 8th year series win in a row.

I believe this does get shown on TV in USA (Fox sports or ESPN ?) and UK so if any sports fans
interested in a good match they might want to watch out for it.

I think it might be the changing of the guard mate,the Blues look good this year BUT saying that Ive always followed the "Maroons" so will have a few bucks on them.

Wayne,
Mal Meninga (Qld coach) just mentioned some press calling Qld team Dad's Army as a few are around
30. However NSW coach apparently was laughing when this point was made as knows 30 does not matter
when talking about Slater and Smith type players.

Always a good series to watch. NSW will go nuts when they do win a series as most of their players
(perhaps all ?) have not won a series.

I am not a huge rugby league fan but the State of Origin is always a 'must watch'. There is something about it that plays into the 'outer states' mentality when it comes to competiton against NSW or Victoria.

1 ZIP the Blues gonna be a good series,2-1 Maroons........................:wink2:

Wayne,
{sm2}
Qld woke up in 2nd half but left it a bit to late to fire up.
Agree will be 2-1 to Qld. Should be a win in Brisbane and then another tight match in Sydney.

Real Football.....Aussie style......I barrack for both side's....have roots in both State's....TomB

Cant remember where I saw it but liked a comment suggesting the Maroons get Quade Cooper into the team. That was because he has boxing experience {sm4}.

Seriously, what does it take to get sent off in an Origin game ? For those who did not see the game this is a reference to the NSW Captain punching a Qld player twice in the face whilst he stood with his hands by his side. Scary thing is the Qld player hardly seemed to be affected by two strong hits from one of the toughest players.

Will make Game 2 even more interesting.

Wayne,
Takes some doing to take it on the chin and still be standing. More chance of Gallen getting sent off if did not retaliate. So could be clever or too stupid/hard headed to feel it. Gallen not exactly a choir boy himself as far as rough tactics go. Probably not helped with encouraging Mums to let their sons play League.

If league is too tough...they can Play Aussie Rule's......If you want a rough game...play in an interservice game....talking about the NSW and Qld social event...I doubt if the big guy even felt the punches and he was clever enough to ignore it and not take the chance of leaving his team a man short....TomB

The number of 'penalties' for offences against the general public seems to be going Qld's way at this point! Mind you there's still a couple of 'drinking days' before the next match, so things could quickly change....

Unbelievable isn't it these sports people don't know how good they have it.
Imagine the TS,s you could buy on there salary ^&grin don't they get 30K for the origin game alone ??

Will have to watch game 2.....I wonder what kinda of reception my fellow New South Welshmen will get ^&grin

Well Joe Bugner has been told no need for him to come out of retirement just yet^&grin

I note Blake Ferguson (NSW team for those not familiar with background) has been stood down from all football after he was charged with indecent assault over an incident, whilst out drinking,on Sunday night. To be charged within 24 hours of the complaint seems unusual compared to previous issues with players and suggests to me police had pretty good evidence. Ferguson was the other player in that photo posted by Josh Dugan of them drinking contrary to team instructions. Both were moved on from their team and clearly not learning from their past misdeeds.

Having said that a Qld player is still under investigation for something that happened with a female in March.

Yes they get $30,000 per Origin game.

Qld by 8 tonight {sm4}

Toddy will like the car sticker I saw today.

Had an All Blacks sticker but also a sticker saying
