Scene is very well done Martyn. Like the launches. Tommy

Gee some lovely sets here Martyn, always works better I feel when you group them together like you have done, they start to compliment each other, especially when in gloss. The jetties allow them to be displayed nicely^&cool, cheers, Robin.

Many thanks Robin, glad you like them :salute::

Very nice Martyn, excellent job on the Dorset sailboat to steam launch conversion. I suppose one could use the " you can never have tooooo many" saying when it comes to steam launches and river boats as with NB figures, camels. mules and elephants ..... but they do take up a bit more room. :wink2:^&grin

Martyn,

Not being familiar with how the launches originally looked, how and what did you to convert them?

Martyn...

the 3 manufacturers go really well together...

is this a permanent set up in your home...

I know collection is extensive...

do you keep any permanent displays in your home...

do you rotate displays...or do you just set up to take pictures and then re-box?

Hi Brad

Here are a couple of pictures I found in the March 22nd 1884 Illustrated London News

This is what the Sail boat looked like before I "got at it" ^&grin, there were no figures or flag included with it

Here is the Steam launch about to have the engine installed

steamlaunch2.jpg

Here are a lot of Steam launch pictures showing the engine fitted in different places and the different size funnels

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=st...MF6rM0QWv8oHwDA&ved=0CDAQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=923

The funnel and engine are made from a Pritt Stick tube, I used Milliput to make the coal tray, coal sacks and shovel blade

Hi Michael

Glad you like the pictures :salute::

I have got 3 cabinet displays with a total of 13 shelves which I tend to change around every so often. The Steam launches share a shelf with my Little Legion Nile launch and a lot of my Naval Brigade figures.

Cheers

Martyn:)
