Hi guys,

since we had our discussion about the Tigers in Stalingrad, and found out plenty evidence there were no such thing at least in the beginning, and we have 3 great vehicles already after one year, what are the possibilites for this year?? I am pretty confident in my European theatre of WWII, but a little rusty on the Russian front, so what would be some armour/artillery pieces for the beginnings of Stalingrad?? any ideas??...Sammy

I am hoping for a Panzer IV (w/ a long barrel) and a T-34.

I would love to see either or both, when Figarti did a Mark IV long barrel it sold out in no time, and to this day is a very hard find, if First Legion were to do one as in the same quality as Panzer III it would be a grand slam, hands down knock out, let's hope...Sammy

How about something super rare , like maybe a Sturminfantriegeschütz 33B  Only 24 made , the first twelve were issued to Sturmgeshütz-Abteilungen 177 and 244 and saw action in Stalingrad .The second batch were used as part of the relief attempt by the 22nd Panzer division to break through after the Soviets had surrounded the 6th Army . Whatever they do it should be cool , I would also like to see some Russian Armor either aT34 or a KV-I would be most welcome. All the best Gebhard

A SIG33B would be very appropriate for our figure range, but I'm not sure how many people would be interested in such a rare vehicle. Perhaps we could be true to history and only make 24 of them for Stalingrad? :D

thanks for the info and pics guys, looked like a pretty mean beast of a tank...Sammy

Marder II/III for me.

I think these vehicles would allow FL to showcase their incredible detailing as the fighting compartments are open. It would also allow for some interesting crew figures.

Im hoping for a 38T Tank.. Standard size halftrack.. Or opel blitz truck/krupps cargo truck,, and ITALIAN TRUCKS! an 88,, or a motorcycle of some kind.. Nobody has ever made a decent motorcycle as of yet.. Or Railroad action!

I Would love more info on their deployment , if you have anything in one of your reference books please let me know also any pictures of them in action or knocked out would be very helpful . Thanks Gebhard

Note the Winterketten in the picture

there's another pic in that book of one knocked out near the Stalingrad Red Barricades factory. It's buried about halfway in snow & listing at a 30deg angle or so

Hi Blowtorch -
Yes I have Island of Fire , IMO I don't think you could find a more detailed book on the battle for the Barrikady gun factory , there is also a good photo in that book on page 156 of a knocked out one. thanks for the info , any new info on their deployment ? Thanks Gebhard

Hello Fellow FL collectors....I recieved the Sdkfz 232 this week:):)......."As Usual":First Legion continues to impress.....EXCELLENT MODEL......Note: read the enclosed instruction sheet....you must remove the turret to fit the commander figure into the vehicle......Another GREAT PRODUCT by First Legion.....Best regards Vezzolf

Hey Folks – first time poster here. I’m fairly new to the hobby coming from a 1/72 armor modeling background and I’m a military history enthusiast, primarily focused on WWII Eastern Front. I’m retired USAF, living here in Germany, which has been home for the past 10 years.
I’ve truly been impressed with the First Legion figures I’ve acquired. I’ve got a handful of Napoleonics and most of the Stalingrad line including the STUG III – fantastic work Matt!
Reading through the posts here it appears most everyone is acquainted w/ Jason Mark’s amazing Stalingrad research and works. Considering this, I’d humbly propose that the new First Legion Pz III carry the insignia of the Leaping Horseman of the 24th Pz Div. Along the same line of thinking I’d like to see a Sdkfz 250 as a future FL offering. It would be great for figures, dioramas and possible conversions! Of course I’d like to see this marked as a 24th Pz Div vehicle as well.
BTW, I was most fortunate to meet and accompany Jason Mark and others on a 10 day mil-history tour of the Crimea last August. The trip was super and Jason is an awesome, humble guy.

Welcome to the forum Montag, sounds like you have a great collection of F.L. already, and I'm with you on the Sdkfz 250 as well, I think it would to be a nice fit with the Stalingrad line that's already in place...Sammy
