Just last week I got the Seven Years War "Battle of Leuthen" diorama base and figures.
Glad I jumped on it, before several retired and "sold out" sets were off the market at their regular prices.
What I want to say, I really do like the concept of this release.
A diorama base with buildings is provided. Plenty of figures (17 different Prussian poses) to make an action filled display.
I will get a few more of both, the Prussian Grenadiers and the Roth Wurzburg Regiment, to fill in the remaining empty spots on the base and behind the walls.
And then that's it.
Off to another line, another battle.
This concept makes it very easy to plan and budget. It's also very attractive for people who don't have the skills and the time, or both, to create and build diorama bases, scenic items themselves.
Now I sure hope that John will do some more releases in this style, of various periods and conflicts.
I would very much appreciate it.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Well done, in the coming years this layout will be much sought after and not available. Robin.

That diorama base and wall/building section makes this range work.Nice pickup Konrad.

Konrad,
I love this layout and would like to see John expand it with a larger base for more figures and walls. He has also released an Austrian Office and Drummer for this set and they are a must have. Check them out on the Treefrog website.

Hi Howard,

I ordered the Officer and Drummer last night, among some more figures to fill in the gaps on the display.
Looking forward to receiving them later this week.

Cheers.

I was able to fill up the remaining empty spots on the base and behind the walls.
Now this display is complete, and I'm very happy with it.
Here are some photos of the complete diorama.

Now off to something different from John Jenkins :wink2:

Happy Collecting!

Always something satisfying about completing a collection especially when it looks as good as this one. It than lends itself to moving forward for a whole new series, keeping the cycle of life going. Robin.

That is a fantastic display !

Congratulations on completion.

The 'tower' with all the figures is amazing.

Thank you for posting.
