Spotted someone is selling the JU52 from Where Eagles Dare film on ebay.

Nice plane but think the price is very high, around double what it original was when released in 2019.

Keep a watch and see IF anyone bids????

I'm sure it is overpriced, but a great bird :)

I agree, great plane, but i kept a watch on the last two big TG planes, a DO17 and a H111 and they went for close to 50% of their original costs. We shall see, as it also has no box.

I have one of the other 2, it is a superb plane, very large but very nice.

There's a sucker born every minute, as P T Barnum would say !

I would never pay that kind of money for that model, but it inspired me to break out my DVD of Where Eagles Dare and watch Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood outwit the Nazis again (this time with my son Alec). I loved the real JU52, Kubelwagons, Opel Blitz Trucks, and BMW Motorcycles in the film (although they did have an American tracked ammunition carrier repainted as a German vehicle in one scene, and T-6 Trainers as German fighters at the airfield scene at the end).:salute::

Don't forget Clint Eastwood's everlasting MP40, that was a heavy gun, as it had a 500 round magazine.

I won the two German planes, DO17 and H111, on ebay and they are great, the H111 is huge. There is a serious lack of German WW2 Luftwaffe vehicles to complement them, from any manufacturer. I would like a Sunderland Flying Boat, that has a wingspan of around 49 inches, it is one hell of big bird. I still have a soft spot for the SOE Lysander I managed to get and it is probably my favourite TG plane I have.

I would not bother with the JU52, think it is overpriced and as we are living in an age of great Toy Soldier releases I can think of many better things to spend my money on. Nice air sea rescue Walrus of a RAF Blenheim, Hampden or Luftwaffe JU188 would be great.

Typo error, the Sunderland wingspan is 41 inches and not 49 inches.

I kept a watch on this and the seller has put it on 6 or 7 times [1 week at a time] at the same price and no interest.

I had a look at some of the other stuff he has to sell and they are incredible expensive, many with no boxes and damaged, he has the LW flak halftrack which is broken but still wants £279.99 as a starting bid. Plus noticed he has a number of JG Miniatures stuff with no box, second hand with paint chips for way more money than you can buy them new, I checked JG website.

This started for me with the JU52 as I have been buying some TG planes and think this aircraft is way over priced and probably worth second hand with no box about a third of the asking price.

The seller has an awful lot of singles from sets, no boxes, which is a good thing as they can be used to replaced broken items, but many of his are already damaged and he is once again asking a very price for them.

Think this be a longer saga than the W Britains 88mm gun...…….

The original retail "rack" price on a Gunn JU 52 regardless of markings is $1750 shipped to America for reference. The original K&C Wooden Warbirds version from the 1990s was $769 and the newer version made in the last 10 years was $2500. Personally, the Thomas Gunn plane at retail was a very good buy for the size and money, it was fully 1/30 scale, I can attest to it being huge as I have the Where Eagles Dare version as well as a custom Afrika Korps one. SO, at 2400 pounds, it is certainly a premium, but it is like anything else. If you want it right now then there it is. I think if you are willing to wait, you can probably special order one through K&C or Thomas Gunn.

As a note - regarding original boxes. You can make one of these with foam yourself, they are custom made anyhow and they are not graphics, etc.

I bought a Franklin Mint 1/48 version for $190. Same paint scheme and was easier on space rqts (24" wingspan) and budget. :smile2: Chris

Franklin Mint made a fine model. I have several fighters they made, my favorite of which are the P-38's flown by Bong and McGuire. I like the heft of the die-cast. -- Al

No surprise it had 0 bits {sm3}
TG wooden planes are only reserved for deep pocket collectors who don't really mind the lack of details on the models as long as they are 1/32 1/30 scale and made of wood :salute::

The Flanklin mint model looks nice for the price although I've never owned any of them.
