Tabletop 1945 Rhineland Diorama (1 Viewer)

Thank you, Gentlemen, for all your positive feedback. I just realized that because of its size and its flexibility (none of the walls or the building are fixed), I can develop different narratives. For example:

Sunshine hit the Rhineland this morning. This is very bad news for the Germans: the Jabos cannot be far behind. The tank just became a death trap. And your survival now depends on your camouflage and the hope the pilot forgot his glasses at home.

Robert Citno wrote in his book “The Wehrmacht’s Last Stand” that an armed force that cannot field an air force has no place on a WWII battlefield. I wonder how many soldiers whether allied or German thought the same thing in 1945.

There would be lots of times as a tanker you would see yourself as a giant target sticking out like a sore thumb. It would be than you would be thinking I am sitting in a steel coffin. Must have been a huge temptation to want to be as far away from the tank as possible. Nice dio. Robin.

MFCA Addition and revisiting the WB Schwimmwagen that started it all:

I do like the combination of Warpark and First Legion. I am not certain I would agree with the opinion that Warpark does not work with FL vehicles.

The figures that inspired the diorama have been produced, delivered and integrated! Did not think it would take that long.

I went with a “shoebox” design for the dust cover as I needed regular access.

I revisited your thread this morning while enjoying my coffee. As others have said Andreas, your display is just outstandingly ng. Well thought out and staged with a nice visual story line. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Awesome dio. The landscaping is amazing, so realistic!

EDIT: Those Schwimmwagens can really get you in trouble. {sm4}

After many years, I was now able to add an anti aircraft gun to my Kampfgruppe. I like the model from Britains and the accompanying figures a lot. A really nice set. It feels like eternities since I saw the 88 the first time in a shadow box in Chicago.
