Take Me Home, Country Roads…
No, I doubt the boys in blue and grey were singing John Denver between 1861-1865. I’m sure one or two, however, hummed the tune of Kathleen Mavourneen while marching miles down hot, dusty country roads.

I finally had sometime today to get out to the local park and get some outdoor photos of a recent diorama I built featuring a simple country lane, fence and tobacco field.

This was a fun diorama to build and I was able to incorporate numerous tips and tricks I’ve learned from Ken Osen through the years.
And even bigger news, having received Ken’s blessing, I will be selling this diorama along with a few others covering numerous conflicts/terrains in Chicago this year! Having been a huge fan of Ken’s (who I can credit having gotten me into the hobby as a kid with his amazing sculpts used in Conte plastic, and getting me back into it as an adult) I’m looking forward to providing affordable scenics for fellow enthusiasts.
If you have any questions about those dioramas or are interested in a custom piece, please don’t hesitate in DM’ing me on here or on Facebook.
Look forward to exhibiting a few more dioramas on here until the show in September.

One of the most challenging and time consuming parts was trimming 1/30 scale tobacco leaves! A great learning process nonetheless.

“Straighten up boys! Let’s show her what Virginia stock is made of!”
