A while back I started a straight out of the box build of an old Tamiya M3 Stuart Tank. I wanted to get back to basics with no photo etch or resin detail sets, no aftermarket guns or track, just an old fashioned build. The color though appearing dark, is my own mix of Marine Corps Green, that is showing some oxidation. Pretty basic .......

Excellent...................

Hey Razor, I have been out of the 1/35th hobby for quite a while, are there size differences between the manufacturers as far as figures and AFV's like we have in the Toy Soldier Hobby

Nice job there Razorboy. I like the out of the box builds and having looked at a few modelling forums recently am a bit bewildered by the amount of photo-etch, gun barrels, filters and powders available these days. To be honest I wouldn't know where to start.

I have the Tamiya M5A1 residing in the cupboard. These were simple but good kits.

Not so much anymore, back in the 70's and early 80's some of the Tamiya figs were smaller but the vehicles were spot on.... got to do with the average height of the Japanese I reckon. To the best of my recollection, Nichimo figures were fairly accurate and so were the Testors / Italeri - some of the ERTL/ESCI figures were way small and some were way big for 1/35. Nowadays, I think all of the figures are in scale more so than 20-30 years ago.

I wish we could get the manufacturers to come up with some common parameters in this hobby.

Once again an excellent build. Alex

Common parameters won't happen .... individualism fuels capitalism ... and capitalism is a good thing .. in my book.

Again excellent job !

Exellent build Razorboy!!.......Always had a soft spot for the Stuart, Hopelessly outdated, under-gunned, under-armoured, but right up there till the end of the war. Nothing but respect for the guys who served in them!!.
