Tanks and Men K&C Gets IT Right! (1 Viewer)

To all you guys who are generally happy with the figure/vehicle size relationship I envy you. I wish this issue didn't bother me. When I look at my K&C Battle of the Bulge US ambulance and stretcher bearer set I want to believe that they are right together. I am skeptical, but like some atheists describe themselves, I am an unwilling unbeliever.

Some of you guys out there must have the ambulance and these figures. Let me ask you, how many wounded figures could fit back there, one at the most? In reality it must have been at least 2, maybe 4 if there were racks. What about the bearers jumping in the front to drive. They would fit, but barely, like a couple of freak show giants, 7ft., 350pounders, not like the average joe of the 1940's who are depicted in the photograph in the very first post. By the way, out of all the toy soldier brands we collect, who is closest to the dimensions and proportions of those GI's in that photo? I think it is FL hands down.

First Legion makes a highly regarded Sherman and 101st Para figures. Shouldn't a pic of the sets beside the vehicle replica bear that out?:)

I agree that First Legion has the best compatability between figures and vehicles of the WWII range; German, Russian and US. First Legion has not changed scales since starting in business; thus all their vehicles are the same scale. First Legion vehicles are built up from resin sheets and moldings like a plastic scale model. Polystone vehicles are cast in a mold. The First Legion vehicles have greater detail and accuracy than other Toy Soldier manufacturers; but at greater cost. K&C has done a very nice job of figure compatability with the latest Tanker figures and the Fury Sherman. The Sherman is larger than other K&C vehicles at 1/28 and would look strange sitting net to a K&C 1/30 Tiger I. K&C has changed scale twice; from 1/32 to 130 and now to 1/28. The older vehicles are not compatable with the newer vehicles or figures. Figures have gone from 54mm to 67mm. A very confusing situation for new collectors. K&C has been in business over 30 years and these changes in scale have occured gradually. Figarti and W. Britains have also changed scale over the last ten years; moving from 1/32 to 1/30 scale. Some Figarti figures can be as large as 1/28 or 65mm. No manufacturer has explained why their figure sizes have changed over time; only Figarti recognised their change by marking their boxes as1/30.
