Hopefully she is just outside of radar coverage rather than having experienced a night time ditching in the Atlantic! Seriously, I really hope the Owl lands safely & soon!

Dear All,

We have FINALLY overcome the ONE technical difficulty with manufacturing for the HE219 (which took us over 6 months to figure out). This plane will fly (I mean will be released), we hope to have it by the Chicago show.

Thank you for your patience.:)

Saw the plane in Shanghai and looked quite neat. I'm sure nobody will be disappointed and quite happy.

Would this be in the "Shock and Awe" series?

No. I've seen the aircraft and it is just a large airplane similar to the aircraft Figarti has already made. The Shock and Awe piece is ....

It's a closely guarded secret as always - I don't even have a guess as to what it might be. There are not too many things that could be shock and awe in 1:30 scale and fit into a room in a house.

Cool. I am trying not to get into aircraft but it's not easy!

Looks like Christmas is coming early and that dreams do come true-a September OWL! I am assuming that the technical issue involved the radar array up front. Thanks Rick!

Still Fighting On,
Marc

Rick....

Any pics of the plane I would be very interested in seeing this. Could you tell me what materials are used in its construction

I seem to remember that the issue was with the large wings. It will be interesting to see how they did it as it may mean that larger, big wing aircraft can be built.

I think the material is some kind of resin, similar to Figarti's earlier planes.

Cheers Terry:
Hey, they did not have any problems with the wings on the B-17s they produced that I know of. However, I am sure that high wing aircraft like the Fieseler Storch were problematic. Maybe that is why we have not seen a Lysander yet? Anyway, how about a plug type design where the wings could be inserted into the fuselage which I imagine might make the packaging/shipping logistics easier?

In anticipation I was checking out some aviation art depicting the "Owl". I can not wait to have this one at my airfield!
