Texas Toy Soldier Pre Show Party ***Show Figure Pics ***Product Updates !!! (1 Viewer)

I think the main complaint in regards to the figures being up for sale so quickly, is that the complaintant was not able to do so themself. Not too many others have voiced it. I may even put one up on ebay for profit myself. It helps deliniate the costs of the trip.

Marc..

As for the club/show figures again just my opinion but, when you see them this fast and for a high starting price its not the love of the hobby and wanting to input the income that immediately springs to mind.

If I were at the show and could get extra figures I would then sell them at the price I paid for them to people I know would appreciate them but, thats just me.

Agreed.

Personally I like the way JJD UK do things. When I contacted them asking if there was any other way of getting their recent London show figure as I was stuck in Oz they offered to set one aside for me to accompany my next order. That doesn't take away from the exclusivity of the figure, a hundred units is still a hundred units. Sometimes it's just impossible for some of us to make it to these shows and their solution makes the figures a little more accessible, without the blatant profiteering and their approach has definitely turned me into a loyal customer of their business.

I hear what you gents are saying, but isn't the profit the same as repainting and putting the item on eBay? I am a collector, but also consider what I purchase as an investment. It's not me, but who is to say that the person/firm/collective has not put aside some show figures for friends or family?

I was wondering how they got on ebay so fast.Weren't they on there before they were given out?

I also hear what you're saying, but I think that this is a little different. I see this more as a cynical exercise in profiteering. Using a privileged position of access to the product and listing MULTIPLES of the same item at an INFLATED STARTING BID price, BEFORE they are even available to that seller. Thankfully it's not an item that I am interested in, but I see this instance as an exercise in exploitation (of the collectors who were unable to attend) and greed on the part of the seller. Just the way I perceive this scenario, others may disagree.

Happy to hear some of you enjoyed the information put out about King&Country and pending new releases and the pics of the pre-show festivities.
Again the additional pics of the show with other vendors are listed under shows and show reports. King&Country show Diorama pics are listed in the
K&C section of the forum.
