Texas Toy Soldier Show Pictures 2015 (1 Viewer)

After seeing Carlo's pics...with his nice camera vs my point and shoot...I am not going to post my embarrassingly bad photos of the pieces he already posted...but I will post a few pics of some attendees and vendors...top to bottom...

Nicholas Cameron from Crown Military Miniatures...
Nicholas and Mike (Mikey)...who is a tremendous help to Nicholas...
The Spangles (sp?)...John and his father...Mr. Spangle...my smoking partner...
Wayne...Treefrog's PanzerAce1944...my eating partner...

Poor Nick, he looks wiped out, a 38 hour drive will do it; oh wait, he did the Cleveland Show last weekend, so it was only a 22 hour drive................{eek3}

Nice to see John and John Jr attended the show, "The Marxman", aka, the Stengels from New York.

Looks like there was plenty of K & C for sale at the show too, that's for sure.

Stengels...Stengels...thank you George...for correcting my spelling...I butchered that name didn't I...^&grin...?

and yes...Nick is now an awesome bag of bones...maybe weighing less than 60 pounds...the boy is killing himself slowly with these shows...

top to bottom...

Andy and Laura...they work their butt off on this show...on the premises all day and every day...Andy...always asking for ideas for improvement from attendees and customers...he tries to please...long live "The King"...

Matt from Hobby Bunker...I hate this guy......I keep getting older and older...and every time I see him he looks younger and younger...he told me he had a good show in sales...

Brian from collector's Showcase...he is a staple of this show for a long time...

"John from Texas"...Treefrog's "hotel3alpha"...
and his handsome...very well mannered son...love this boy...he brought us 7 plates of dessert to our Symposium table...
John is a kick in the butt...really funny nice guy...

Brian Deitz...circled in white...from Chicago...Treefrog's "Deitz"...I met him in person for the first time...him and his sons and friend made a long trip to attend the show...a really cordial nice guy...

Martin...formerly of KingsX...he began a new career in teaching and sadly is now longer with the store...but I think with his extensive knowledge of K&C product...he is still called upon for advice or consultation...always a pleasure to see...

if Amber and Norma...if you read this...I want to apologize for not getting a pic of you guys...your eagerness to please really makes the show special...

this is a small Alamo display inside the Menger hotel...

down the lobby between the show and KingsX...

I have never seen it posted on here and I always look at it when I stay at the Menger...

it's a great piece...and I'm pretty sure Gordon made it...

there was a mirror behind it that I focused on in some of the pics so you might see how the back is finished...

sorry for the glare...it's in a glass window...

Matryn..."GICOP"...

if you read this...

a fellow grabbed me by the arm and introduced himself...

he said you told him to look me up...

Sam Floca...Colonel, USA , Retired...

we had a nice chat...some good things were spoken about you by both of us...^&grin...

he seemed like a really nice guy...

lastly...

the Symposium Dinner Exclusive figure...

"the Leader with the Mustache"...as he is referred to on Ebay...

history re-written...

a great idea for a figure...

a dirty, scuffed up and slightly bloodied....captured Hitler...

he looks like he came out of the same hole they pulled Saddam out of...

kind of looks like he may have been handled roughly by his captors...awwwwww....^&grin...

Mike, if was pleasure to meet you. It was a great trip. My nephews really enjoyed it. It was their 1st plane trip. We just got back from walking the hallways of the Menger taking pictures hoping to capture some ghosts in our photographs.

Mike,
That's ok, I've seen all sorts of variations on his name, Stengle, Stencil, Stangle; just call him John from New York.

You need to keep Nick in Texas for a week or so and get him some of the that world famous BBQ to put some meat on his bones.

And, since you and John from New York are good smoking buddies, he and his son come to Chicago, as does Nick and Mike, as does Matt from The Hobby Bunker, as does Brian Dietz (super nice guy he is for sure), so come on Mike, you need to make the trip, just come for the weekend, you won't regret it.

Oh and I'm there too.......................:wink2:

Nick eats like a bird...a very small bird...

and yes...

I may come next year...it's something I have wanted to do for a long time...first drink is on me...^&grin...

Thanks Carlos and Mike, great shots. Spotted a few things I will have to try to track down. Robin.

It'll be a drinks on the newbies weekend! Hopefully this will be my first year too!

Mike, My Camera is horrible. Better something than nothing though ! One thing that I was
Impressed with was Mike Miller's hand built castle. Perfect for 1/30 or 1/32 scale. I went
back and forth myself deciding whether to buy it or not. For myself,it Wouldn't quite go with
WWII but anyone that does crusaders contact Mike Miller. You won't be dissapointed !!!

Wow, This must be the "WORST" photo that I have "EVER" seen of myself in my life.
I guess when you get 4 hours sleep in 2 days....This is how you look when you wake
up in the morning !
