Hello,
here are some pictures of new Britains figures from their "Redcoats" series.
I really got to like them and want to show the first two groups I have for display.
Also it would be interesting if other collectors here on the forum collect these?
Happy Collecting!
Konrad

I have all the Redcoat series. Ken Osen is a master, and the figures are fantastic. The detail on these little glossy figures is remarkable.

Hi Konrad,

Once again, you blow me away with such nice pictures of your collection. The Redcoats are very, very impressive and extremely well done. My compliments to you for including them in your collection and my compliments to W. Britains for manufacturing these wonderful figures!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

konrad, you've opened up my eyes... great displays. i havent looked at britians in a long while but these photo's have kindled a spark... i've just located them on tf and will put an order in for them soon. thanks again

Hi Pugio,
these new glossy series from Britains (Bluecoats, Redcoats and now also the FIW coming) are very well made and a pleasure to display.
Did you see the upcoming Artillery set?
Konrad

konrad, just went thru every w. britians page on treefrog, present, recent and upcoming releases. the artillery set looks nice. making a list... things look good for french and indian war fans... for many years, it was a forgotten conflict.......

Great display Konrad! I bet you just can't wait for the new Musicains coming out. Keep up the good work and send more pictures!!!
O.C.

Hello Old Celt,
you are right. The musicians will be a great addition and I heard there will be another Ensign with the Regimental Colors.
One of the 2008 Collector Club figures will be a corresponding trooper of the "Hat" Regiment from that era.
Never thought that glossy figures could catch my attention in that way.
Konrad

Konrad: Thanks for the photos. Now I know how a group would look like. I love the Redcoat/Bluecoat series. Britains did a great job. I have most but just single figures. I like them the best of what I been getting lately. Leadmen

just ordered my first bunch of redcoats against my better judgement. of course i know whats going to happen... i'm goin fall in love with them and have to add piece after piece...... the only saving grace is that at least its the french and indian war.....

I am pretty sure that you will not be dissapointed. If you are going for a larger group of the Grenadiers, you might want to get them now. Several dealers are out of them and I heard that Britains is not restocking them as this figure is retired.
Let us now what you think, once you receive your group.
Talk to you later and Happy Collecting!

Konrad,

I thought I should add my compliments as well, even though I don't collect gloss figures anymore, but I've painted hundreds of them in the past and so I still have more than a passing interest in them and would like to say that you have a very nice display there.

Regards

Jeff

Hello Jeff,
thank you for the compliments and especially from someone like you. I watched your interesting step by step postings of you painting the RHA set in the other thread and want to use this opportunity here to congratulate you for that fine work you did. It is very tempting to try it myelf.
As of collecting habits, for me it is the other way around. I do not collect matte figures anymore but got to the traditional style now.

Hi Konrad,

It was a most enjoyable thread and perhaps I might do another sometime  But I would like to see more of your collection, these Britains figures are really nice, are you going to get the cannon and crew?

Regards

Jeff

Jeff,

the cannon and crew is on the top of my list. As of currently available pictures that set looks beautiful.
I am starting the collecting of glossy figures for the 18th century (only American conflicts, like the FIW and the AWI) right now.
As soon as I will have more sets ready to display I will gladly do so and I am looking forward to it.

I have one other group already, which I posted in the Beau Geste section of this forum. There I showed some Hessian troops of the AWI.

Kogu,
Just like me. Out of matte and going for gloss!!! These Redcoats look very special, thanks for your very telling, excellent photos. Unfortunately I am now concentrating my efforts on glossy Napoleonics and WWI, with a few British and French colonials ( have you checked out Dorset on this period? ).
Can't have everything, can I? Or can I?????

Best wishes,
Paulo

Hi Paulo,
glad to find another member who's going for the glossy part of collecting. Well, with the Napoleonic range and WWI you will hardly reach the end at any given time. Particularly the Napoleonic Range doesn't seem to end. There are sooooo many figures available.
I tried to look up Dorset today and saw that they have several sets that would be interesting, like especially minutemen and also British troops but I can hardly find pictures of their sets.
Also, is there a dealer in the U.S. who sells the Dorset figures?
While searching I found out that Marlborough as well did some figures for the 18th century period here in the U.S.
Again, is there a dealer available here in the states?
Thanks for your post and talk to you later.
Konrad

That is some good advise, KV,
I used to under-estimate the power of the glossy figures and now I got hooked. It's fun though :D:D:D
