To all King & Country Collectors

As many of you know King & Country has been an enthusiastic supporter of and participant in this great show from the earliest days of our company.

We first took part in the ‘1984 Show’ and have eagerly looked forward each September to flying out to the ‘Windy City’ and setting up our displays and dioramas at the Hyatt Woodfield for all to view and enjoy.

After the pandemic struck last year we were also looking forward to finally getting back to normal (and Chicago) this September.

Alas it is not to be... Due to the continuing restrictions on international air travel and Hong Kong’s own quarantine requirements after returning to the city from overseas it is simply too difficult and prohibitive to make the journey to and from our favourite Toy Soldier Show.

So, although myself and K&C will not be at this year’s ‘Chicago Show’ in person we will be well represented by some of our finest U.S. King & Country Dealers who will have many of our latest and most recent releases on show and for sale.

We also take this opportunity to wish Roger & Jan Garfield and their terrific team all success with the 2021 Show and sincerely hope that ourselves and the rest of the world get back to some kind of normality in 2022.

Very best wishes and...
Happy Collecting!

You made a wise decision from a health point of view Andy, particularly with the Delta variant now running rampant through this country. Until next year, hopefully.

Brad

The show will not be the same without you Andy.

I will be attending as I only live one hour drive from the show. Andy from Wisconsin

Think you made an excellent choice, the new strain seems to be ripping through the US, i have seen the US news and all states are seeing an increase in cases. Better safe than sorry, while in the UK the Dec 2021 London show has been announced but we will have to wait and see here, I am unsure, but if i do go i will drive and not get public transport, train/tube, 90 minutes either way for me and on the drive through London suburbs i go over the Beatles Abbey Road crossing, always make me smile.

Good news , the national spoprts memorabilia show was held in chicago this weekend, it was a big success. I have seen a show that
busy in years and there was alot of money being spent. This bodes well for the intl toy soldier show in september. Can't wait

It may be, unbelievably, too early.

Oh well, hope to see you all soon!

They are quite different. A big feature of the Chicago Toy Soldier Show is room trading. I’m not familiar with the sports show but I’m guessing that room trading isn’t involved and it’s just a day show. Many international people normally travel to the Toy Soldier Show. I’m sure that number will be down this year. In addition, many who go to the Show like myself and others will not be attending. Not having Andy there will make an impact.

You can’t draw any parallels between the two shows as they are different.

brad that sports show was like room trading in the old days of the chicago show. I was bumping into people right and left. We will be fine. If one has alot of conditions maybe it could be best not
to attend or weigh your risks. I for one will be there.

I have no condition and am not volunteering to have one. 90/10 I will not be there.

Hopefully your condition is in good condition after the show :wink2:

Hi Guys,

Some good points here, one thing to remember is for example if you are flying in from say Hong Kong like Andy the flight time is anything from 14 hours plus and from the UK it would be 8 hours plus, then there is the airport check in time and hanging about etc. Spending multiple hours on a plane full of people is not the most healthy thing at the best of time, never mind the current healthcare crisis. Secondly, i can speak for the London show, but probably the same for Chicago, the attendees are not in the first stage of life and many have health problems and are probably the most at risk group, one Tfrogger i remember said the show looked like Gods waiting room........ So possible people will just not risk it.

I look forward to any pictures. As always.

^&confuse How can you possibly make a statement like, "We will be fine"?

To me that is nonsense. How about asking the Texas GOP official, H. Scott Apley how feels about that statement.
He pushed against vaccinations and masks. He is now dead from COVID leaving a wife and 5 month old baby.

Gee, I guess you can't ask him after all.

You mean the world. It is global and it is a global battle. So your judgment applies to all humans who are fighting a global pandemic.
