We all know about the 300 Spartans who bravely fought to the last man at The Battle of Thermopylae. I wanted to create a diorama as a tribute to the 700 warriors from Thespiae who stayed for The Last Stand and perished right alongside the Spartans. This is a 54mm diorama featuring three of Aeroart's Thespian's led by General Demophilus. I hope you enjoy the photos. Thanks for looking, Joe

That’s a very nice terrain piece Joe. In keeping with the series it enables a dramatic scene such as yours. Robin.

Thank you Robin! The terrain is all made from scratch. The columns are from a resin kit that I painted. The crows are separate kit pieces that I painted, drilled out and attached to the column with brass pins. I sculpted / painted the groundwork. The platform with steps I scratch built.

Quite an achievement Joe, when you can reach this level of professionalism. Certainly you must be very happy with your results. A rewarding project that’s for sure. Robin.

Something any collector would proudly display as their centre piece :salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

Thanks again Robin! I really enjoy building dioramas and hopefully some day I'll have more time to do it and try new things.

I've just realized now that I accidentally put this thread in the how-to section. It really belongs in the diorama and collections section. If possible could a moderator please move the thread to the proper location? I'm sorry about that. Thanks!

This is so cool, Joe. I initially saw a figure or two from your images, then the entire center piece. Most impressive. I've always found these Greek scenes to be like historic art. The figures looks amazing with the blood and other gritty detailing. Terrain piece, columns, and steps are just exquisite. A really awesome scene you've created. Makes me want to revisit a few of my TG Ancient Greeks.

Thank you so much Rob! I really appreciate how you see all the details. I agree, it's like historic art to me too. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos!

Don't mind seeing these types of posts resurface when the figure and/or the scene is terrific. Both is the case with this little dio.
