The Battle of Normandy (1 Viewer)

I agree, Sammy.
Would have thought that the 101st Airborne receive a more discussed welcome.
Great figures for sure.

They will, FL going Western Allie is THE BOMB!!!! can't wait a TOTALL PLEASURE for us WW2 collectors.
And by the way these Fig's are how 101st should look KILLER AWSOME AWSOME!!!!!! FL you are {sm3}!!!

Well, I am planning to get several of them. One hole I have filling is Airborne, and these appear to be the best yet.

I'm all about this release. If there was one company that hit the nail on the head for areas that I'm interested in then it would be FL. Romans are my true#1 but American WWII airborne are a very close second.

I really like this release, but it poses a challenge going forward for me as a FL collector. To-date, the FL WWII line has been early war, ETO focused, with figures uniformed as such and vehicles released as such. While it opens many new opportunities for figures and vehicles, I fear it may 'dilute' the release rigor for the ETO line. It was also my understanding that there was some sensitivity from FL about producing Waffen SS figures. When one looks at Normandy, the Waffen SS played a rather huge role....
Just one collector's perspective.

Hi Mike ,
Matt has addresed the issue of doing Waffen SS figures before and First Legion have no problem with them at all when they are part of the Battle being covered . Matt has only stated that there will be no SS Parade figures of any kind or any figures of Hitler and his buddies having fun in the sun.... COMBAT only for FL this is not a slight at collectors who like that kind of thing or the companies who cater to them its just not for First Legion . hope this helps regards Gebhard

yeah that was my first thought. :(

I would suggest you West Front boys start saving your pennies because a FL Panther or Tiger can't be too far behind. Bad for me and my anticipated Stalingrad PzIVF2 dreams however. I bet we'll still see a Stalingrad Hanomag though

Thanks much Gebhard, that helps a lot as I'd not kept up on the discussion thread that addressed this topic. It sure does add a lot of momentum to the FL 'machine'.

Is it just me, but doesn't the soldier in the middle holding his submachine gun at waist look a little like Dick Winters??...Sammy

Sorry bout the photos. Ill post them back up tomorrow. Yes, one of the figures sorta looks like Winters. I forgot to add that the info on the bottom stated that the figures are to portray paras from the Bloody Gulch. So with that in mind Im thinking that we will see some FJs or SS in the near future. Personally I hope it is the FJs.

I count a total of 11 First Legion Paras (so far) in this new range, the original 6 on the website then the 5 that Joe posted from the magazine, not a bad total to start a new sub range for WWII and who knows? maybe more?? my favorite in the pics so far, is the Para kneeling looks like giving a thumbs up possibly, this is going to be a awesome range just by the looks of the sculpts of the first 11 Paras, hmmmm...I would love to see David from TM Terrain do a Normandy battle scene for these guys:)...Sammy
