Kat....I have no argument with your opinions on scale, size, authenticity, etc x 10 but as a member of this forum since 2008 we all have seen enough scale wars, price wars, "my toy soldiers are better then yours"......guys and a few gals on this forum all enjoy buying and collecting what they like, to point out a flaw, color whatever is one thing but to beat that dead horse, drag it behind a truck, set it a fire sort of speak tends to get old, if you are the true modeler type guy maybe this forum is a bit to liberal for you?? Meaning we can buy a 300.00 tank and if a screen isn't just the right color black, tan etc.we can live with it, to get to the nuts and bolts brother....just enjoy the forum and all things associated with it and allow others to do the same, not trying to silence your opinions and such but just a bit of toy soldier advice.

Logically if no Panther model is best; than all must be of equal quality; is this correct? Are the Collectors Showcase and Figarti Panthers are equivalent in quality and accuracy? What determines price where all things are equivalent? How does one decide? The TCS Panther is larger than the Figarti Panther, is it worth more or less?

Mate, as a concerned member you need to turn the tap off and take a breather for a minute.

You're missing all the obvious hints here and its getting a bit silly now.

There's no such thing as the best Panther. Sorry to disappoint, but there isn't.

I understand you're obsession more than you know, but you need to let it go.

I just take advantage of the "ignore" function on the forum. That way I can browse through the forum without seeing any of our "friend's" troll comments.

"Here I go again on my own
Goin' down the only road I've ever known.
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone.
An' I've made up my mind, I ain't wasting no more time." Somehow this thread made me conjure up those infamous lyrics by Whitesnake.................

Katana …. I think you are missing the point that many of these fine folks are saying.

YES … without doubt … as Desertkiwi pointed out … "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE BEST PANTHER"
I do not collect any WWII Europe series so I am really impartial as to the original question.

What folks have been trying to tell you is that we each like, enjoy, treasure, our items … and to each individual theirs is the best.

The same hold true for just about everything in life:

Is there a best classical composer? Can you argue that Mendelssohn is better than Tchaikovsky? Or say, Bizet is better that Strauss?

Is there a best form of Art? Can you argue that Cubism is better than Impressionism? How about Surrealism being superior to Abstract art?

Is there a best wine? Is Merlot better than Cabernet Sauvignon? How about a Pinot Noir outclassing a Chardonnay?

Is Saving Private Ryan better than Band of Brothers, The Pacific or Star Wars better than Star Trek?
((( Okay on this one ..ya' Star Trek is way better than Star Wars!! Come on, how can you compare Luke to James T. Kirk .. {sm4})))

What is the "BEST" Japanese WWII figure? Is it King and Country's set; or maybe Thomas Gunn's figures; or possible the new Ready4Actions sets?
THEY ARE ALL THE BEST.

With each post your throw out (Ad nauseam) why something is 1/16" of an inch off, or the color is not right, or why you hate King and Country, or why your opinion is correct and everyone else is a fool.

This hobby is (supposed to be) about fun, enjoyment, stress relief, history, the hunt for the illusive treasure, the thrill of the find.
I truly believe that you must hate this hobby since all you do is find fault with this one item or another; one manufacturer or another.

As have been suggested, step back, loosen the tie, kick off the shoes, pour a cold one and YOU enjoy your toy soldiers and WE will enjoy our toy soldiers.
Have the BEST day possible, Katana.

Now I'm going to listen to some Strauss while I sip my Merlot and watch The Pacific … ^&grin

Thanks for your observations and advice Larry. I must disagree about the existence of the best. The Best of anything is something to be aspired to; be it an Object De Art, Excellence in a Profession or an Ability. The Olympics typifies who or what is best. The world would be a much poorer and more boring place without the concept of what is best and the desire to achieve it IMO. Too many settle for what is; when they should aspire to what could be!

Much like tap dancing in a mine field, poking a bear with a stick, playing in traffic or throwing rocks at a hornets nest, I know I am going to regret this, but here goes; why are you asking who makes the best Panther tank WHEN WE JUST HAD A POLL ON THIS?

In case you missed it, 23 people voted; 11 voted FL, 5 each Honor Bound and Figarti, 2 K & C and 0, as in no one, voted for Collectors Showcase.

So going by that poll, First Legion in the opinion of the forum members makes the best Panther.

So there you go ginsu.

The best is off the factory floor in 1942. Everything else has flaws!
