The Gotha has landed ... well, almost! (1 Viewer)

Cheers to the construction crew. If I was one of the riggers, I would be expecting a big bonus at Christmas. I don't see how you all do it. Great model. ^&cool -- Al

Thanks everyone for the comments. Dad has almost got there with the rigging. It will be one impressive plane when he is done. He has a shelf full of projects waiting for this to be completed - a Bristol, a Camel, a 1/48th scale Lanc, some interwar US aviation, a Wildcat, and even two or three pieces of WW2 German armour.

Very, very......very nice Jack. You and your Dad are a couple of clever blokes :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

What a magnificent beast! A job well done and a beautiful aircraft as a result.^&cool -- Al

That is a very impressive job of model building and rigging. I can't imagine myself taking something like that on. The rigging alone would have led to my obituary notice. Most impressive and congratulations for a job well done. Now, who gets to keep the prize in their home? -- Al

It is indeed a 1/32nd Wingnuts kit. I have not seen the finished article in person yet but will in a few days. My father has described it as having turned out 'OK'. In Jack's father speak, which has a pessimistic, glass half empty quality, this means 'the Gotha is the greatest model in all of recorded history'. {sm4}{sm4}

Seriously, though, thank you everyone for the kind words. He has worked on it for three months and is rightly very proud of it. It will join the large airfield diorama that the Brisbane boys have almost completed. See the diorama thread if you have missed the hundreds of self congratulatory posts I have made!
