The Grays Are GREAT (1 Viewer)

I finished unpacking a large order of new D-day and Napoleonic's (the Grays) last night with my seven-year old grandson and we were both blown away by the Grays.I have almost every issue of K&C cavalry and almost every Del Prado, up to number 107, and they are so beautiful it sent shivers up and down my spine. I have never had a figure do that before. When Marc opened the bulger he started laughing. Only a seven-year old reacts that way. It was not because it was funny, it was because he was so happy at its beauty.

If Andy were here, I would give him a great big hand snake and rattle his eye balls as I pump his hand vigorously up and down. What works of art. Firebat, you can't get anymore real than these fellows and their beautiful mounts.

If anyone is tempted to get started in this time period, start with the Grays, you will not be dissed-appointed (yeah I know I spelled it that way on purpose). I recommend that everyone buy a set just for display even if you don't collect Napoleonics. Can you tell I love them, I am rambling on about how great they are; but, they ARE!!!:) :) :)

I haven't had the opportunity yet to see these figures in person...Although I have received the GRAYS 3 piece set (SEIZING THE COLOURS) and it is very nice..can't wait to get the rest..I have 4 more ordered for the end of July and the last 3 for the end of August....:D

Cheers

The Scots Greys are really good, the only downside I've noticed is the somewhat artificial looking dappling, but that coloration is difficult to achieve in models. I also like the new WWII French Cavalry horses. Hopefully the days of happy camel K & C horses are behind us :)

On our displays for the next show we have 20 Greys in charge and they look WWWWWWOOOOOOW amazing.

Come on now don't get me started on something else. I already have been taking a few peeks at the Civil War Stuff...Alex

Hello Alex;
No kidding, you really have to buy some Grey's. Get it real man!

(BTW: it's nice to see your work on the diorama forum. I'm waiting for your first Napoleonic diorama):)

They certainly look fantastic on the web. I'll add some as soon as the wallet can handle it.I walked into A " SCOTTISH COUNTRY SHOP " in Portland Or the other day while I was in town . They were Selling prints at 1/2 off. Got Lady Butlers " Scotland Forever" 24"x36" and " Defiant Highlander" 24" x 36" .Both for $65.00 total!
The Highlander has been taken prisoner and being ecsorted to the rear by Mounted French Horse Guard Grenadiers.I stashed those away for framing when I have someplace new to Hang them.Like my Museum which thus far is still only a dream.
When I get my KC Greys, I'll set up a Little diorama along with my 24 Frontline and Niena and post some pix.
I'm certainly in a Napoleonic mood as My Russians are starting to come along nicely.:D
Sceic, That is great your Grandson is so impressed with the figures.Nothing is more delightful than a Youngun that likes what his Old man does.I bet you both feel like kids and thats the greatest!

I didn't even catch up with the WWII stuff yet, and I can't believe I actually just ordered 2 expensive 1/6 scale pieces, I thought I was done with that stuff. This new company DID makes some super real stuff. But anything is possible. The HO trains look like they are on the chopping block. I am working on a few Dioramas now...Alex

FIREBAT......What DID 1/6 figures did you order?

Actually I won them on EBAY, Corbin Black and Rickey Foster, boy they are nice, and the first DID pieces to join my 250 other Dragon BBI etc. I think I have to have that Marine Sgt. Puller too. I am a Airborne maniac, there is just one piece I do not have. The Cyberhobby Kit Carson..........These guys are real, so I don't have to use my "Get Real' catch phrase, well I guess I DID.. Alex
