Hi Guys,
Here’s is the first of our special pre Christmas photos featuring some of our existing items as well as a few of the future projects we are working on.
This first display / layout is called ‘The Horse Soldiers’ and was inspired by the 1959 John Ford directed Civil War movie of the same name.
This is turn was a fictionalized version of Colonel Benjamin Grierson’s Union cavalry raid through hostile territory in Tennessee, Mississippi and into Louisiana in 1863.
The Union Cavalry tore up railroads, freed slaves and burned Confederate storehouses throughout areas no Union forces had ventured before.
Like John Ford did we’ve taken a few liberties with history and the story itself. But, we’ve had a lot of fun doing it and using more than a few of K&C’s own ‘John Ford’s Cavalry’ figures plus our Western town buildings... If you’d like to see some more detailed ‘shots’ of these 5 hand-made structures look out for the upcoming ‘COWBOYS & COWTOWNS’ thread.
All the very, best and, as ever, happy collecting!
Andy
