Fantastic casualty set now sculpted! Well done all choosing that one! :D

Sorry a bit late, I've been dressing up in my ACW Artillery kit and away enjoying firing black powder cannons and pistols!
Here with the updated Poll and new British NCO's, winning selection from last months poll.

Get yerr votes in!

...TWO Sergeants !!!

...words fail me......to mimic a famous chocolate advert, "John, with these figures, you're really spoiling us"...

...absolutely fantastic to see these...

...the pain will be trying to decide on what to vote for....the option at the top of the list looks like it may be a favourite...

...BRAVO !

:smile2:

Fully agree - TWO Sergeants !!! Center AND flank company NCOs. - THANK YOU Mr. Jenkins.

The new poll entry of 'British Artillery Crew Defending' caught me by surprise.....and got my vote.
What a great addition this would make to place along side Barrell's 4th, depicting that desperate moment when the Clans of Cameron and Stewart break through their line.

Morning chaps

Well I was torn by this months poll! I at first was going to add my vote to the British artillery crew defending which was streets ahead of the opposition (literal). Then having spied the Jacobite officer option I plumped for that even thought it will have a lot of catching up to do. I think the artillery crew is a dead certainty if not now then soon.

The figure that really started off my Jacobite collection was JR9 charging highland officer but he's wearing trews. A kilted office would be great.

Anyway enough of my ramblings, John will do us proud of that I'm sure.

Regards

Glynn RAMC

...whilst getting over the surprising (and extremely welcome) revelation of there being two Sergeants......

...questions, questions...

...the eventual winner (let's face facts, this will probably walk it)...the British Artillery Crew Defending......will this be a three piece set (would four figures be pushing it ?).....and will there be a suitable piece of artillery for them to defend ?

...then again....the figures which didn't win a poll....can we expect these at a later date...more Highlanders....all of the listed Royal Ecossois.....and (ahem)....MORE Lowlanders.....

...now, onto the fun stuff.....when can we expect the past winners to be released.....????

...it's your own fault JJD......we now expect to be regularly spoiled, so as far as the Jacobite Rebellion range is considered.......more, more, more of these superb figures !

:smile2: :smile2: :smile2:

PLEASE do a similar poll for the Sudan range!!!!!

Pete

It would be wonderful to have similar poll resulting in some new releases for the Sudan range. JJD has made some great figures for this line, but sadly of late it has been a bit neglected......There are still many needed figures just to complete what has already been started. - More Royal Marines and officer, plus a piper and drummer for the Gordons would be at the top of my wish list.

Well,a surprise choice this month~a RA gun crew!In my own display I have placed a gun from the JJD Monongahela series and supplemented the crew with Frontline gunners from the FIW gun set.Not totally historically accurate~the uniforms didn't change much from Culloden to the 7 Years War,but,of course, Col.Belford had only 3lb guns at Culloden while the Monongahela guns are, quite correctly,6lb guns. The 3lb guns, the smallest in the RA's arsenal, were probably chosen for Scotland because they were light and could be drawn by a single horse and,if they became stuck in the bogs and appalling roads then extra horses could be quickly harnessed in tandem(in single file, one in front of the other). This actually happened on Cumberland's march from Nairn to Culloden on the morning of the battle. It was also probably felt that, while it was unlikely that the RA would be required to reduce fortifications in Scotland, the light, quickly loaded, little 3lbers would throw out grapeshot which would break up the Highlanders charge~and so it proved. No surprises for guessing what I'm voting for here.I'm also very happy with the look of the British NCOs and the wounded~now saving up for multiples.

...having just finished reading the excellent "Falkirk or Paradise! the battle of Falkirk Muir, 17 January 1746" by Geoff Bailey....full of great ideas for set-pieces / diorama's / etc....these new Sergeants are certainly a most welcome addition....and even though I selfishly want more Lowlanders....the British Artillery Crew Defending...will no doubt look superb.....

...so keep the votes coming in...! :)

Beautiful. Do we know how they will be sold? With an accompanying Corporal (please) or as individual figures?

Thanks,
Chris

....a quick recap of things so far regarding the Jacobite Rebellion wish-lists....

Kick-off = ...the reveal of the new 'Lowlander Charging Flag Bearer' (Lord Ogilvy Regt.?).....this will be a personal favourite as the Standard was raised not far from where I am.....

Winner of Sept Poll - 33 votes - 'British Grenadier Drummer'........what a great figure he is.....

Winner of Oct Poll - 22 votes - 'British Line Casualties' (Pair)......will certainly help with the action diorama's......superb sculpts....

Winner of Nov Poll - 27 votes - 'British Sergeant(s)'....and oh, how surprised were we when it turned out there was a pair of them, both 'Hatman' and Grenadier......superb !.......clearly we are being spoiled.....

Winner of Dec Poll (?) - currently 'only' 21 votes ( :( ) .... - highly likely to be 'British Artillery Crew Defending'.....which will no doubt look wonderful and be most welcome by all who favour this range...and probably used for other periods....(yet to establish if there are 2 / 3/ or dare I say it, 4 figures in this Defending group)....this will require a suitable piece of artillery (forget 'subtle' hint, it's an instruction ! :wink2: ).....

...2014 will be a great year when these eventually start being released.....the problem will be deciding how many of each to purchase.....a nice problem to have !

...we have been extremely lucky to have been gifted the chance to pick these figures....it's not too late to bump up the Dec Poll results with more votes.....so come on....keep voting.....and we may get future chances to select 'our' figures.....

...you know you want to....

...especially as next time it will be MORE Lowlanders....

...I can feel it !

:) :) :)

...on this, St.Andrews Day, maybe we can get a few more votes before the final day of the Dec Poll closes ??? :wink2:

...of all the Polls, the result of this one was practically a foregone conclusion from day one.....'British Artillery Crew Defending'...

...they are going to be great !

...whilst we applaud the forthcoming releases, it may be worth noting that the current range of Jacobites has shortened...according to the main JJD site....

JR-01.....Highlanders Charging #1 (2pcs) - Sold Out ! (possibly a few available at local dealers ?)

JR-08.....Highlander Flag #1 (Appin Regt) - Sold Out ! (ditto ?)

...for those of you dragging your feet over this range......time to get your skates on.....

Well it looks like poll taking is on a Holiday break......But thanks to John J. & Capt.Heyward's great polling idea, Culloden fans can expect some great releases in 2014 - a British Drummer, 2 British Line casualties, 2 British NCOs (Line & Grenadier) and Royal Artillery defending (hopefully w/a 3 pounder).

We also know there is a Lowland color bearer coming our way. - So thanks Mr. Jenkins for looking after our collecting wishes, and to Capt. Heyward for providing the polls which made it happen.

...absolutely...!

{bravo}}

...whilst reading through the positive comments in the 'British Artillery Crews' thread regarding the Napoleonic era figures I couldn't help wondering how 'our' Royal Artillery Defending figures are progressing....

...come on, come on, come on ! :p

...bumpity-bump !

...without assuming too much....what are the chances that April's releases may include some of the 'wish-list' Jacobite figures ?......April is the month of the final battle....

...fingers crossed..... :wink2:
