well, we all know the song from the Laurel and Hardy movie but, K&C are now doing limited pine trees. Production of 50 worldwide with orders of $500 and a price of $32.

Can't get the leaflet accompanying this offer for the 30cm trees to download from the CC e-mail but, wonder when they will branch out onto e-bay and become a rarity!!!LOL

Nice trees by the look with the winter Germans and Tiger should have done them as a general release perhaps

Did I hear that right? Limited edition scenics? I mean no offence, but that just seems odd- like you said- I wonder if these will become rare sought after pieces....^&confuse

You did hear correct. I was quite surprised myself to read the CC e-mail and, wish I could down load the flyer but, it will not for some reason. Nice scenic but, don't understand the limited availability of a tree myself. Be interesting to see a bidding war for a winter pine on e-bay!!!

Would never bid on a tree !!!!! especially not a pine tree. There are lots of them around (Green line, Faller, JG, Joefix, just to name a few) and are very easy to make yourself !!!! You will see quite a few in my next BoB dio.

Here are some pics of the tree.

Guy, could you show us a step by step on how to make a pine tree? I for one would like to know how and I am sure others would also, it is more fun to make your own..:smile2:

guy...

Of course making trees is easy for some but, I would still not be surprised to see these tree's being sold at the stupid prices these limited or so called limited items are punted out at.

As for making trees I posted an armature step guide in the building section last year for people to build from wire I would recommend anyone making any trees to buy a product called flexi bark (speaks for itself what it is) the results are superb and don't crack when you reposition the wire branches

So funny! {sm4} But it is a cypress, isn' t it..

For the average tree.......go out into your back yard...go to the nearest semi large bush and break of a bit with plenty of mini branch's on it....fine or even coarse steel wool is good for the leafy bits...need to use a spray can paint to color or you will spend all day with a brush...bark....cover trunk with plasticine (or sculprey) and mark bark shapes....just straight lines will do.....plasticine will accept paint....pine tree....get hold of some sculprey....get a stick or something similular....use copper wire or thin fencing wire to wind around the stick for the branches....cover in sculprey ( or plasticine for a temp tree )...model best as you can the piney shaped branches....bake in oven (sculprey model) for approx 10/15 minutes...DO NOT ..pick up sculprey when hot or any thin bits will break...best not to touch sculprey until cool....you can bake sculprey for ever if you want to.. this may help ...TomB

have a bit of patience my friend, there is a much much easier way !!!
all you need is a piece of branch from your garden, some copper wire, some milliput and some woodland scenic foliage.

great photos Guy! I can finally see good the quality of your repainting! {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}

You should work for KC! I prefer your style more...

Sandor, in the diorama section I will show you in a couple of days, how to make your own fir and pine trees. And remember, only a few species are growing in the Ardennes region . A lot of the woods are man made ( trees nicely planted in rows) and are planted with only one variety of pine tree; Another one of the species you find in that region looses its needles during winter.
guy:)

Thanks Poppo, I appreciate your comments
