When I started pulling my toy soldiers out of storage in May 2016, it soon became apparent to me that there was a whole box of missing soldiers somewhere. From time to time, I will see figures posted on the forum or on eBay that jog my memory of the days when I had similar figures in my collection. As far as I can tell, here is what might be missing:
Trophy Pathans, maybe 12-20 figures
Trophy British Maxim gun crew ( I still have the machine gun, just no crew)
Dorset Mounted Camel Corps - 20 figures
Dorset dismounted Camel Corps
Steadfast artillery including 4 regular sized cannon and 4 screw gun batteries.
There might be more, but this is what I can recall.
I have looked high and low throughout the house but have yet to turn up the missing box. My figures had been packed away through two house moves since 1995 and while 3 boxes were found, the one remains missing. It might be stashed away somewhere in the bowels of the basement, but methinks that it got lost during one of the house moves.i can only imagine what happened to it. On the plus side, most of my favorite Trophy figures survived to see the light of day.
