"Set on the streets of 17th century Paris, series gives a contemporary take on the classic story about a group of highly trained soldiers and bodyguards assigned to protect King and country."

Old fashion entertainment. Historical timeline played with a bit. Plenty of critics. I guess they'd
be happier with a few zombies or vampires. I liked it, but what do I know.
Starting on BBC America starting today. Based on Alexander Dumas mostly. Ten episodes. A good old

For me, the best rendition of the Dumas masterpiece will always be the Salkind movies, "The Three Musketeers" and "The Four Musketeers", with Michael York, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain, Charlton Heston, Faye Dunaway and Racquel Welch, supported by an excellent collection of character actors.

Prost!

I've never seen those. I'll have to watch for them. Still glad BBC is going to do a second season.
Ratings must have been good.

Played with a bit.....{eek3}
Played with to much IMO had the makings of a good series but to many unnecessary heroics,i was so looking forward to it but was bitterly dissapointed,but give it a go might appeal to you.

I recorded it on my DVR and watched the first episode tonite.. I think it's excellent.. Has the feel of a good 'ole fashioned swashbuckler.. I enjoyed it very much. Looking forward to episode 2 and beyond.

Tom Burke who plays Athos, is the son of David Burke, who played Dr. Watson, in the 1980s "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". With Jeremy Brett playing Holmes.

Like most of us I love a good adventure flick and these are a good distraction and are not too serious or dark. Havent watched all of the 1st season yet but so far its pretty good. But like the Baron I just love the ones with Michael York and Racquel Welch! Great story lines some humor and the right amount of cleavage from Racquel{sm4}

I just started watching this on Netflix and so far I'm enjoying it. I have a copy of Dumas' book lying around somewhere, but I want to find it and finally read it after watching this series.
Cheers,

Has very little to do with Dumas other than names.

I am watching it on pay TV and really enjoy it but at times it can give the impression that it is a US crime procedural that did not make the cut and the writers have used 60 percent of the material to write a series of musketeer adventures. I know little about weapons but they hit pretty much everything they fire at, even when on the run. They also seem to always be looking for evidence. It does not take itself too seriously, however, and is quite good fun.
