THE NAPOLEON THREAD II - For those who still hear the GUNS !! - but wont fire them. (1 Viewer)

I've wondered why Ron is such a fan and here he has given a concise and fair reason. He makes a very good point about the Napoleonic era whilst also stating that Wellington was a great general. Now this is good to see, people stating their case and not condemming everyone else as useless. You know what we have here don't you...REASONED DEBATE!!!!!(bells ringing, people cheering etc)

Rob

Thank you, Thank you - I will be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress. :D

Could someone tell me what lancers attacked the scots greys after their gallant charge went to far?.Would be good if we got some action posed lancers at some point.

The 3rd and 4th lancers along with cuirassiers and chasseurs.

Were those French only or French and other Nations Lancers??

Ron

They were french dragoons that were converted to lancers I do beleive.

Napoleon converted some of his many dragoons regiments to lancers before he went into russia so they looked munch like dragoons with helmets in green uniforms.
So these were not the polish looking lancers. The few polish lanciers that napoleon had at waterloo were part of the gaurd.
I beleive the red(polish) lancers were the only lancers to take part in the massed cavalry attacks on the allied squares. They should have had all the lancers attack the squares because lancers were better at breaking squares with there long reaching lances.
I believe most of the lancers were on napoleons right flank and saw lots of action with the prussains coming up on that side.

The lancers that K&C came out with - what display would they go best with?

Facing Highlanders or Line British Troops?

Did I miss something which lanciers K&C came out with? The only one that I know of that he came out with is the single vistula legion figure which did see action in the peninsular war against the british.

Everyone

I just got a bunch of movies (DVD) in on Napoleon. A few are from the Cromwell Studios - has anyone seen them before?

Ron

Do any of you Napoleonic fans have any of the Beau Geste Napoleonics? They look quite remarkable.

This is what we all need

These are all King and Country gloss figures from their original line. I bought them from Sue and mike in 1997.
