The new FJ's (2 Viewers)

There can't be another ....the engines won't take it Captain!!:D

The Ramjager pilots were actually FJ's who once they parachuted to safety used bugles to alert their rescue party. Heydrich himself authorised teh programme whilst he was driving in his green car

Hi Damian,

If a FJ bugler survived to become, by the end of the war, a Rammjäger pilot, obviously he didn't used his bugle on any mission otherwise he would have been the first to be shooted on the battlefield.

On the other hand, being a FJ bugler is certainly as suicidal as being a Rammjäger pilot :D

Pierre.

I think there is a hook on the bottom of the Ramjager to which the bugle was attached

LOL :p

Damian - You are so bad :D

In the After the Battle hard back book Blitzkrieg in the West there are several propaganda shots of German infantry with Bugles!
If you think thats bad in the quarterly issue that covers the Norwegian raids there is a photo of a British officer who went into combat with a Long Bow (not the helicopter gunship before we start getting silly again) to try and bag a Jerry.

Well, the Brits have whistles , right?

True, and according to the movie "A bridge to Far" some Para officers used a fox hunting style horn. Not to mention the crickets in "The Longest Day", shame about the similarity in sound to a rifle action - bugger

Wasn't a Captain R.Hood by any chance was it?.:D

Wood shed or Codling Grinder?

If you wanted a silent but deadly attack that would be the way to do it, with a Long Bow.

Have been thinking of using FoB British & French for a Norwegian Campaign 1940. I think the FJ's would be suitable as opposition. Any comments?
This would make for a somewhat "different" winter war from the usual BotB winter dios.
Any suggestions guys?

I wonder if the D Day commandos could be used for a Norwegian raid scenario?

I'd prefer to see commandos wearing woolen cap comforters rather than green berets, cos thats how I always envisage them in my minds eye. Suppose you could always replace the heads with hornet/wolf items, b ut thats getting into modelling territory which I prefer to avoid.

Yes i see your point there. Some commandos wearing the comforters would be really evocative and most welcome.

Something I've been wondering about suggesting for some time now Rob and I'll be discussing it with Andy N next week;
A lot of us like to display our collection in small doi's or viginettes. How about K&C offering alternative heads and weapons? In addition, figures with separate bases, especially the figures who are lying prone? This would allow us to place our figures where we like. They could be fixed on vehicles/terrain with just a spot of superglue or that wax stuff that TF sells and would look so much more authentic.
Not suggesting K&C go down the "modelling road", it's more like "just a thought". But it would give us more options in individualizing our collections.
What do other Froggers think of this one?

I say no......the more times a company has to deviate from an established mfg. process, costs them in increased capital, which then is passed onto us. If some do not have the stomach for slicing and dicing their current K/C figures to suit their variable pose needs, then they must live with the status quo. I am happy for the static figures ,as is and at a fair price....Michael
