I do appreciate the level of attention Andy puts into producing K&C figures.
As a collector for over 20yrs and owning over 1000 pieces of K&C products, I’ve observed many landmark improvements:
More authentic horses
Details of painted faces and expressions
Protective packaging
Vehicle scales close to 1:30
Tank wheels
More tank antennas
Better quality control on paint jobs
Just wanna punch hard on a few things that’s stopping K&C from producing great stuff:
Recent Desert vehicles coarse paint chips/weathering
Repetitive poses lacking in versatility
Reducing amount of painted details (insignias, boot laces)
Replacing some parts with plastic instead of polystone (cannons, flags)
Thick windshield frames on some vehicles
It seems like the airplanes are never painted with the right amount of weathering (too clean or too dirty)
Thanks Mr.'O', for your reply and comments...If I may let me respond to the more negative ones:
1. Which particular 'recent Desert vehicles' are you referring to..?
2. Reduced painting detail...Exactly which figures..? K&C covers many ranges and series.
3. Replacement of certain parts of cannons and flags with resin instead of polystone...This was done to reduce weight and provide in some cases better detail and stability, especially on flags and standards.
4. Thicker windshield frames...In some cases a frame has to be slightly enlarged to accommodate the Perspex window that fits behind it...Please illustrate the particular ones you do not like.
5. Aeroplanes are either too 'clean'...or too 'dirty'...Surely this is simply a matter of personal taste and/or opinion...State which ones you find fault with and why and I will happily respond.
And...
6. In light of the additional faults you have added to your original comments my invitation still stands for you to visit K&C's Head Office in HK and discuss in person how and what we might do to improve and meet your expectations and gain your approval.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you.
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy.
