The new Folgore (3 Viewers)

I do appreciate the level of attention Andy puts into producing K&C figures.

As a collector for over 20yrs and owning over 1000 pieces of K&C products, I’ve observed many landmark improvements:

More authentic horses
Details of painted faces and expressions
Protective packaging
Vehicle scales close to 1:30
Tank wheels
More tank antennas
Better quality control on paint jobs

Just wanna punch hard on a few things that’s stopping K&C from producing great stuff:

Recent Desert vehicles coarse paint chips/weathering
Repetitive poses lacking in versatility
Reducing amount of painted details (insignias, boot laces)
Replacing some parts with plastic instead of polystone (cannons, flags)
Thick windshield frames on some vehicles
It seems like the airplanes are never painted with the right amount of weathering (too clean or too dirty)

Thanks Mr.'O', for your reply and comments...If I may let me respond to the more negative ones:

1. Which particular 'recent Desert vehicles' are you referring to..?

2. Reduced painting detail...Exactly which figures..? K&C covers many ranges and series.

3. Replacement of certain parts of cannons and flags with resin instead of polystone...This was done to reduce weight and provide in some cases better detail and stability, especially on flags and standards.

4. Thicker windshield frames...In some cases a frame has to be slightly enlarged to accommodate the Perspex window that fits behind it...Please illustrate the particular ones you do not like.

5. Aeroplanes are either too 'clean'...or too 'dirty'...Surely this is simply a matter of personal taste and/or opinion...State which ones you find fault with and why and I will happily respond.
And...
6. In light of the additional faults you have added to your original comments my invitation still stands for you to visit K&C's Head Office in HK and discuss in person how and what we might do to improve and meet your expectations and gain your approval.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you.
Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy.

Andy,
There are some folks who "truly" believe that the world is flat .......{sm3}

There are some folks who "truly" believe that Neil Armstrong never walked on the moon .....^&grin

There are some folks who "truly" believe that there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow ...:tongue:

AND THEN there are those few folks who believe that K&C doesn't produce the BEST figures and vehicles in the world. {eek3}

So don't waste your time and energy of these type of fairy tales and work on ......
more USMC figures without black shading lines;
more of the best Japanese WWII plane produced;
more Japanese figures and Marines with incredible versatility in their poses;
AND more of the best price per quality sets available.

A very big 'Thank-you' to you Larry and all our other friends on this Forum for your kind and appreciative words of K&C and our work.

As most of you know I got into this business through being a collector myself...and I am still an avid collector today and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm with others who also love and enjoy the hobby in all it's many forms, sizes , shapes and scales.

My enthusiasm is one of the main reasons I enjoy this and the other toy soldier Forum and why I take such an active part in all manner of discussions here and elsewhere...It's fun and often educational to read what you guys think, suggest and comment on.

Many times I will agree with subjects and statements made...Occasionally I will disagree and respond providing K&C's point of view or my own personal opinion.

I think it's more than fair to say I take part in more conversations here on this Forum than any other manufacturer in the hobby...Now, that's not a criticism of anyone else...'To each his own'...I happen to like meeting and talking with K&C collectors on a regular basis here and at all kinds of events throughout the year all over the world. That's K&C's personal 'modus operandi'...or maybe that should be 'modus operAndy'!

Another thing I learned in this hobby and business is that you will never please all of the people all of the time with all of the things you produce...BUT if you can bring some happiness and fun to some of the people at least some of the time then you've actually achieved a worthwhile goal!

Thanks again Guys...Best wishes and happy collecting from ALL of us at King & Country to ALL of you,
Andy.

Hey Andy mate,
I noticed there are some collectors not happy with the new Folgore uniforms and want green for the Italian Campaign. Well my suggestion as I have always done in the past is to ask you POLITELY if you were going to do the figures down the track in those colours. If not I just send the original sets in this case tri-colour and get my good mate and Master painter, young Obee to convert them for me. Works well. See some of his conversions below. All were once tri-colour now AK Desert colour including the uniforms. John is a bloody genius with a painter brush.^&grin
Cheers Howard

Howard,

Obee did a great job on those 88's.

Certainly the one piece of equipment missing from the K&C AK series and not likely to every appear.

Did Obee do a crew conversation for you as well?

G'day Howard!
Great work by Obee (John) on those Desert 88's, vehicles and figures...The 'Lad' does wonderful 'conversions'...
As for Mark's comment on any future K&C '88...One thing I've learned (among many) over the years is... NEVER SAY NEVER!!!
Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy.

Andy,

Would make me a very happy collector to see a Grey and Desert 88 from K&C with kill rings.

Mark mate,
Yes he did. The six 88 crewmen actioning one gun plus the 2 x Halftracks to tow them and also the two rows of three seated crewmen.

Howard,

Love to see the whole setup or photographs.

They would look great next to some of the original MK IV & III's

Hi everyone,

let me say my piece, please. I've read every word you've written and I wonder... why do we have to go and make things so complicated?:eek:
As I've already said, I've waited so long for this moment but, except few details (blue tunic insignia, for example), it has been worth it: Folgore's figures are better than I could have anticipated. :) This month, I was so full of beans... :rolleyes2: I've respected your opinions and though it's true that everything in this world can be improved .. I'm good and I thank a lot Andy to make my dreams come true! {sm4} I completely agree with Mr. "Risorgimento" 'little details are important' ..., everything else is gossip".There are more important problems than this... So... allow me to say: "cheer up, it might never happen!".:smile2:

Best regards

Enrico :salute::

Hi gents, I have picked up the Folgore 3 man fire team , and they are very good I must say. Crisp sculpting and nice paintwork. The standing figure in particular is excellent, and he was the main reason I bought the set and he looks even better in hand than in photos. Why is it that such ( or all ) figures are not sold individually too ? The kneeling figure with the Beretta 38 smg is rather diminutive in scale I did notice and the weapon is very large, well sculpted nevertheless and he does have the blue insignia by his collar. Anyone else got these and what do you think ? I hope we see more of this range , hopefully another 5 fighting figures ( Andy ?)

Seriously impressed by these paint conversions and envious of anyone who owns an Obee AK set. :salute::
