Sorry to hear you can't sleep. I hope this doesn't mean you will be awake now until June!;)

Thanks- I have been under a string of bad luck lately- must have a huge stormcloud over my head- and everything just seems to be going horribly wrong- I'm serious- I don't think I could walk and chew gum at the sametime anymore!!:eek: Just got a lot on the mind......

Yeah, the seated Legionaires do sound goofy- especially given all the demands for more and more "Action" poses- oh well, I might have to tackle it as a special project.

Hi Guys,

Wow these look great I am especially happy to hear of a turtle and to see some of the infantry this will be a big distraction to be sure!

Looking forward to the releases of these guy.

Ken: Without giving away too much is there a plan for Gauls or Franks or other barbarians for these boys to mess with?

All the best

Dave

Chris, Sorry to hear your problems I hope all is well soon. I know what you want; you want a few hundred Romans to sit in your war galley! Am I right?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the comments. Yes for sure later we will have one of the civilized European tribes/races to fight these barbarian Romanic hoards!

Future production will be a little like our past Ancient releases; where first we made just the Greeks, then added some Persians and then gradually filled in where necessary, and of course we are still filling in now.

I am keeping the two legions secret for the moment and their enemies but all will be revealed soon. They will I hasten to add be "crack" legions. There will be no cowards or soldiers put to death by decimation in my army!

Thank you- you know, that would make me feel a ton better ;) I have actually been playing around with that for the past few months- having Caesar's party boat sitting at dock and units of Legionaires marching away from it- fantastic thoughts.

A bit off subject here but I considered buying a second Galley as I want to sort of park one outside of Alexandria for the Egyptian line of KC- who knows, that thing,, I am sure I'll find a way to put it into a Global War on Terror (GWOT) diorama :D

Or perhaps another one of my Doctor Who Dalek dioramas:p

Hi Guys,

Wow these look great..........

funny thing about EoI- they never seem to "improve" as it seems like since the first day out the door their stuff has been first rate.

That turtle will just be grand- I gotta think back in the age of Rome, having a couple thousand legionaires grouped together in several turtles must have been like an armored column coming at you- kicking up dirt and sand- it must have been a tremendous spectacle- Dave- you and I can certainly appreciate the discipline and precision and training it must have taken to maintain those formations- just amazing. Even the leadership under the Centurions to get those guys to hold the line and execute- just amazing.

One thing I didn't know was, I believe the Signifier(?) was selected from the elite soldiers- I just thought they kind of went out there and got nailed but at least kept the standard high. That seems to not be the case- I am just learning about those unique positions- the signifier, aquilifer, etc.

Chris,

You are absolutely right 2 boats (one moored and one along side) or even more profound, 3 boats (the third slightly offshore) looks so much better. I still today wish I had bought another one of the Greek transport ships you have seen. Wow that would have been quite a scene for a Greek landing.

Sitting figures will have to wait I am sorry, but marching figures (bearing in mind both you and Alex have already asked for them) make me immediately spring across the office to my reasearch material! Would you prefer them fully kitted ready for war or in a "dressed down" state of marching?

Fully kitted without a doubt sir- I would love to do something with the ship moored and a column or two of "mules" are advancing to the battlefield through a forest, valley, etc and then it opens to the battlefield.

From what I hear, those Roman WG's are going for some pretty crazy prices already so I am glad I have mine. I have actually considered, as I advance in age (and hopefully pay) that I may consider having a carpenter build me a wooden model if I want another ship or two. Who knows what the future holds.

I do enjoy the poses though from what we have seen. I am not a historical purist per se so I think these figures will work well with different periods- I would like to do Zama and BH has those crazy Carthaginian war elephants- I gotta think that these Romans would work well from a visual standpoint against those guys in Zama, Gaul, Britannia- heck, I even considered taking EoI Greeks and putting them against the Romans to reenact some of the Greco-Roman wars-

Geez, I don't know Chris  I don't think those Centurions got any spare time to sit down, what with invading, fighting and throwing people to the floor ;) :D

:D

Here's what I am cooking up- I am planning on doing a dio with the KC ancient egypt figures and of course, Mark Antony meeting Cleo. I have laid out some ideas I have and one would be to have an outdoor ampitheater where I envision some of the Legionaires sitting down and relaxing while the KC Egyptian "dancing girls" are on stage "entertaining" the crowd. Of course, the young ladies in my diorama will have their tops on.

So there we have it- if anyone is interested, I am going to try and do this diorma of Abu Simbel- a tomb of Ramses II. I am going to take some artictic license of course. I like the layout pictures I have in my books and think it would go very well with several of the different lines that I want to incorporate. The trick is going to be in trying to model a freakin Egyptian temple. This endeavor is going to cost much $$$ and time- of course, I guess I could make more money if I stopped messing around on this forum so much and would get to work!! :D

Bigus Dickus frow this man roughly to the floor!

Wow that is quite a project you have going there Chris.

Interesting you like the idea of fully kitted Romans marching to battle. All I have seen so far are dressed down Romans marching (after the pictures in Osprey and numerous other pubilcations) showing how they carry their gear on those rather primative "backpacks". I must look into this.

Dear Ken...will they match up in scale to the Romans I already have? Even though yours have more poses, my figures do sit, so Chris does have a choice, now.......:DMichael:p

Ron, I have seen his Greeks and they seem smaller than either of those mfg.Michael

Michael,

What an excellent batch of figures you have there. Mine stand no chance against those! Are they St Playmobilburg! :D

These appear fantastic. I see scattered references to a turtle, will there be figures for a testudo (which actually translates to "tortoise") formation and if so in what release?

I would imagine that these are 'one of the same'. Yes these figures are rather nice aren't they.

Thanks guys! The "turtle" must be the Roman Marine vesion of the "tortoise" :D

I did mention that a Testudo could be in the making in future if this range proves to be popular. It will take be a while to find this out so no production dates are set as yet until I get these figures into the market and identify their popularity.

Just kidding. I was trying to see if Chris was awake there. The Romans never had stirrups.
Regards
Damian
