the "ONE" K&C set you are missing?? (1 Viewer)

I would love to of got the Japs sets at cost price. There is no way I would pay ebay prices for them.I will be patient and wait till K&C eventually do more Japs.Simmo.

I got lucky with Tim Tyler at troops of time with the schlepper, he told me he had 1 left the day K&C retired it, at the time I was on the fence but glad I went for it now...Sammy

Lucky dog !

Very interesting question! Its always interesting to find an early piece that might look good on the shelf.

I have always liked the very early paper mache Roman Fort. I saw it many years ago on Ebay but it was quickly gone......while I was investigaing exactly what it was! That would be a nice find, or another early wooden vehicle.

Yep definitely a must buy, if it can be afforded. with me more than likely it will be with my crusaders/saracen collection.

The 4 early LAH staff cars. I would also like a winter tiger. There are many more but that would be a nice start.

Well I am in a position where theres nothing I absolutely have to have right now,I'd like the Jimmy truck one day and they are still around here and there, but apart from that I'm set.But I can always be tempted with something I don't REALLY need!;)

Rob

I finally got the Matilda last year so that made a big difference to my collection as it was the one piece I always wanted.

The only other piece I'd really like is FJ01 Schwimmwagen but I'm not as bothered as I once was.

My Holy Grail will be the TK01 Tiger tank, the two tone one that K&C now even has it in Hong Kong, not the one with tan colour track or the WSS05 that Andy and his brother Gordon have painted it themselves.

If there is a chance, I would like to buy it with not more than $1,500.

I think that would cost more than 1500, probably somewhere in the twos.

How many of them were even made and who has one?

Terry

Here is a quote from the book about TK01:

The Tigers were produced primarily in two-tone reddish brown on tan camouflage, although a limited number were produced in three tone green and brown on tan camo schemes. They came in the markings of the First (Liebstandart Adolf Hitler) SS Panzer Division, with principally the numbers 201 and 101 on the turrets. They had either tan or black resin tracks, and were truly the Cadillacs of K&C armored vehicle production. On the best of these tanks, the gun elevated, both top turret hatches opened, and there were blackout lamps of the front deck of the tank’s chassis. These tanks came with a half-figure of a black coated SS Tank Commander. This vehicle, designated TK01, originally retailed for $346 in 1996 but quickly increased to $384 by July, 1997. Between 50 and 100 of these vehicles were produced.

I had three, but traded one to Larry Lo, and at last year's chicago show one to Clive Gande (for the Figarti Shock and Awe LCT), so only have one left. They are very rare and tend to go for well in excess of $1,500 (one of the wooden Tigers sold on ebay for $2,400 a couple of years ago). If you want to see shots of all of the original K&C wood, resin and metal Normandy vehicles, check out Volume 1 of the K&C book.

The German 88 and figure sets.....I have the primemover, but nothing to tow.....Oh well......I shall keep looking.....

Good call. That complete set is a K&C classic.
I'm very fortunate to have them in my collection as i started collecting just as the 88 was being retired. Mike Neville suggested on the phone it was a good piece to start with and he was quite right!

This might be a really dumb question, but was is the "K&C Book"?

It's a book written by Louis Badolato and beautifully photographed by Kevin Elliiot regarding WWII from glossy to Arnhem matte. See this link. It's well worth the money, around $130.

There is one out now on all glossy ever produced by K & C, although I'm not sure that will interest you. The one on the Warbirds will be out sometime this year and more volumes are planned on everything that K & C has ever made.

Is the book put out by K&C?
