One of my paternal ancestors, William Ives, was a Puritan and part of the 1630s Great Migration to New England. He came aboard the Truelove in 1635 and first settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony but later became one the original settlers of New Haven, Connecticut where he was listed as a member of the militia.

I really like the new Preacher figure which speaks volumes about the Puritans who came to New England and what they described as their "Errand into the Wilderness" where they were intent upon converting the indigenous population by Word or Weapon, clearly shown in the figure holding the Bible in one hand and sword in the other. For me this foreshadows Teddy Roosevelt's famous "Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick" said at the time the United States was involved in new colonization in the Caribbean and Pacific.

I have attached a 19th C painting by John Pettie called The Roundhead which I would guess was the inspiration for the Preacher figure. I would love to see K&C do some American Puritan figures including the local militias of the period.
