Soviet troops inspect a disabled and abandoned German Panzerjager “Ferdinand” during the Battle of Kursk in July 1943.

I’ve had First Legion’s excellent KUR010 Ferdinand model for a few months now, and finally got it into a display. It is a beautiful model! Given the checkered history of the Ferdinand’s deployment at Kursk, I decided to display the model as having been captured by the Soviets in the aftermath of the battle. All figures are First Legion Stalingrad Russian figures with bits from other manufacturers.

What these soldiers must be feeling having overcome this mighty beast. Would at the very least, give them confidence, the German onslaught could be halted. Really cool diorama. Robin.

They keep getting better and better TMAN, I don't know how you do it 👏👏👏. Keep them coming Paul

Wonderful setup! One of FL's finest

I've been patiently waiting to see one of your diorama's with the new FL Panther! no pressure!

Wow! Thank you everyone for all the kind comments on my display! It’s all really made my day 😊

I’ve been tinkering around with how to display the FL Ferdinand for a few months now, but never came up with something I was satisfied with. Then it all kind of came together this past weekend. I’ve not yet gotten FL’s Kursk Panther as I’ve got the JJD version, though the FL model is indeed tempting… I’m hoping FL will eventually make an early production Tiger I for their Kursk collection.

But thanks again for all the kind comments, everyone 😃

Not a fan of anything that is Russian, including toy soldiers, but this dio is still excellent.
Thanks Panzer Ace!

I have a grudging respect for what the Russians were able to accomplish during WWII and have long had a fascination with the titanic struggle between two of the most evil totalitarian regimes in history on the Eastern Front. Plus, in a hobby that is heavily oriented towards WWII Germany, it’s always good to depict the efforts of the other side.
