What are those gnome type figures there Harry. Not the K and C ones.
Regards
Damian

They're something out of an ancient Chinese legend or fable Damian. I've been trying to find out exactly what, without too much success. It's to do with the three guys going on a journey into the west, I think, and they somehow get turned into those three gnome-like characters at some stage in their adventures.
I've got a few Chinese history books but no books about myths and legends unfortunately. Missus Heid isn't much help either on this one - pretends not to understand when I ask about the story behind the figures :confused:. Maybe I need to start watching "Monkey" on the tv. (Heaven Forbid.....:D:eek::D).

I've seen figures of these three gentlemen again and again in Chinese curio shops, so it must be a fairly well-known story. I have the three figures portraying them before they're appearance is changed. They're presently in my luggage sitting in our Bangkok office. So I'll get some photos of them in a couple of weeks from now.

Until such time as I find out the story - I'll continue to use these figures as "Statues".

Cheers

And the remarkably tenuous Asian link in this one is;
Check what the crew down in the lower deck are chanting....:D:D

Even more tenuous Asian link is; ummm, let's see - well, it was an amazingly popular movie in Asia.....:eek::D:D
Besides, I've always wanted to do this......:):)

I took a bunch of pictures of Louis' SOHK and will post them later. Hopefully, they came out decently.

Here are photos from Louis' SOHK collection,

Brad,
These are incredible photo's. They clearly illustrate just what an amazing range this is and provide ideas for improved displays. Thanks for posting them.
Now cummon Pierre and any other SOHK collectors. Please share your photo's on this thread.
Cheers

Harry,

I think SOHK is an outstanding range. I remember when I first saw some SOHK in 2005, I was completely blown away by the sculpting, the colors, the detail, you name it. I just wish I had the room to start collecting it.

This photo is from the collection of Larry Lo. Larry has an amazing collection of not just SOHK that rivals in many ways Louis'.

Well done SCOTLAND
I missed that game. I was too busy watching the Sharks beat the Auckland Blues. Scotland always dig deep against the old enemy.

Harry,

Nice combination of sets there.........makes for a grand display. :)

Jeff

Yeah Jeff,
The old fella there in the middle of the display isn't actually being deferential towards the Bride-To-Be. He's all bowed down with the weight of the world on his shoulders, examining his shoes and shaking his head - at the thought of yet another good man biting the dust.....:D:D:D

Time to resume normal service....:D:D

Thanks Harry!

My wife has just seen this  (looking over my shoulder whilst I'm online) and commented that wouldn't those little vases look nice in her curio cabinet, so could you please add those to the list please. ;)

Thanks

Jeff

Bless you Harry!

I've managed to take a couple of photos of my wife’s mother’s day present (the Pagoda) with a couple of visitors. The paintwork on this is pretty amazing; well the whole range is really.

The Pagoda is brilliant Jeff, and I think the Opera Stage is right up there too.
Here's a few quickies of some stuff on the new full-size table. Its destined for a large display of the wedding procession plus some additional sets to add interest, but here's what it looks like at the present moment.
