The time is now, make some real WW2 German Armor!!! (2 Viewers)

Wow, you guys really latched on to the mention of a Wittman Tiger, but missed my larger point I think.

It wasn't meant as a request to have another Wittman Tiger built, as I agree they have been done to death, it was meant as a response to the sentiment that TGM might be worried larger armor wouldn't sell/be profitable. Like it or not, Wittman Tigers sell, and if TGM did an interpretation I guarantee they wouldn't lose money on it.

The Panzer III sounds good. Personally I'd prefer to see a Ausf N w/ sideskirts done up in Kursk colors.

I still think TGM needs to take a stab at the big German cats: Tiger I, Tiger II, Panther. But hey, if TGM is content playing second fiddle to KC, Figarti, et al. Keep making the little stuff.

Hunter ,

I was thinking about this post earlier than I realized...That Blake Reade who ran NMA ( New Model Army ) is a designer of product @ TGM...
I have the Kursk Tiger I he developed & sold @ his former co. NMA...Thought with this thread & talk of TGM doing a Tiger I that it would be fitting to post a few of the pic's of the one he produced...If TGM decides to do one this may be a good sample !

Happy New Year everybody and see you all on the 6th January!

BTW we wont be making any big German armour guys for a while, its been done several times over and we would rather concentrate on other projects that are being neglected elsewhere. Nice to see the old NMA Tiger, I had not seen that version before, wonder how many of those are around?

Kind Regards Vicki

I can see the points on both sides of this discussion, so can I throw a curveball like I usually do.

Since Tom does small unusual stuff. I think the Americans fought in WWII also if I am not mistaken. And I think the US and her Allies even won the war. What about American soft skin vehicles.

I think I have had enough with German stuff !

This explains it all. The armoured car market has been NEGLECTED for a very long time IMO. TGM has come along at a great time and jumped into this market, with what I believe to be a FANTASTIC release of realistic looking camo and non-camo vehicles. The Puma, and the Hetzer for example. The weathering and camo on the Normandy releases is simply amazing..... And there is still a HUGE area of exciting vehicles that can be covered by TGM with the molds and vehicle bodies already released.

Examples.
The Marder III series of vehicles.
A Flakpanzer 38(t).
The Grille 15cm gun
The 231 and 232 Panzerspahwagens.
And the 250 series of armoured cars. Examples 250/1, 250/8, 250/9,250/11 these are but a few sorely needed vehicles that TGM could and should release.

Maybe if they released the bigger tanks some self propelled guns. Late war Stug III's or a Panzer IV/70 long barrel.

Hey TGM. Keep up the the Recon vehicles.

You make me sound like a Southern Baptist Preacher ^&grin:){sm4}

But when you think about it, most forum members are American, British or Australian ( Forgive me if I forgot to mention anyone ) And we were and are all Allies. German War material is exotic, but we need to properly represent the Allies also.

Really, sometimes I think there is something wrong with us having this obsession with German Stuff.

A food line with eating or waiting infantry/tankers would be great and surely a big buy for me..
I think for now the armour is to much with other competitors are also on the market..
"Casual" non- combattant poses would be a nice change..

Greetings,

Ranger

Hi Vicki,
Yes, most of the big German armor has been done several times over, but it would still be nice to see TG enter the arena of big cats and such. I really like the quality of your vehicles, and I would like to see if that translates well to larger TG AFV's. For instance, I don't think anyone has done a winter panther or Tiger II in quite awhile.....I bet either would be very popular, assuming it would be of similar quality to your previous releases (and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't). I really don't think you can say large armor is overdone because you haven't jumped into the ring yet. If you produce a big cat and sales fall flat, well that's a different story. So while their are a lot of large German AFV's out there (pretty much only Tiger I's), there aren't any produced by your outfit, and your product is different. I say show us what you can do. Judging from what I have seen and purchased, TG's vehicles are detailed and priced better than what your main competitor's are offering. I would say the market cannot truly be saturated with large armor (aside from Tiger I's) when I think what you could produce would almost certainly be an improvement on what is currently being offered by other manufacturers. I think it's there for the taking if you maintain your same level of detail and proportionate price point.
Thank you and keep up the good work,
Joe

Happy with some more of the promised V series, have all the big cats I need, but that's just me, hope others get what they are after. Robin.

Since the big German cats have been shot down straight from the horses mouth by TGM, l'll second the notion for this little SdKfz 250 variant. It seems it would be simple for TGM to throw this together, since they've already scuulped the SdKfz 250 body and the turret in previous releases.

And even though I bashed the Marder series previously, I'd love to see one. Also wouldn't mind seeing a Wespe.

Yep I am with you a 250 and any of the variants would be excellent. Robin.

Totally agree Robin and it would be awesome to see a 250 released as per that pic shown below with a 2cm auto cannon and coaxial machine gun {sm3}
